Remember when I showed you guys my mad clay skills? Also remember when I said that the kitties were only the beginning of a bigger project? Well, I finished said project and I think it turned out so good that I just had to show you all. I’ve really been excited to do this because Mr. D gets tired of me squealing over a project time and time again, and I know that you will appreciate the work I have put in. After all, you all understand these milestones that I am hitting and can squeal along with me!

So I took one of these:

Then I got out my trusty paint brushes and some paint, and did up the wood stuff to make it look pretty. After the paint dried, I got out my trusty hot glue gun and started gluing away, until I was left with a completed cake topper. This topper, to be exact:

I am really proud of it. Mr. D really likes it too, which made me really happy. I smile  every time I see it sitting on our bookshelf, which is where it will reside after the wedding as well. I think it’s a great memento that we can keep hanging around well after our day. I can’t wait to see this perched on top of our tower of goodies! Which, as of Saturday, will be only six months away! Eek!
