Mrs. Seal's Picture
Mrs. Seal, San Francisco Age and Occupation: 25, Personal Assistant Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Sales and Support Specialist Engagement Date: December 12, 2009 Wedding Date: November 2011 Venue: Sts Peter and Paul Church/The Bently Reserve About Me: I am a goofy, wannabe crafty, well-intentioned Renaissance Woman (OK, perhaps "aimless wanderer" is a more aptly suited term for me, but hopefully you get the point)—basically I dabble in just about everything and pride myself in such. Without warning, I occasionally breakout into soulful improvised songs and interpretive dances and there's just no stopping me! As so many others before me, planning our wedding has unearthed a deep, intense passion for all things bridal and I secretly fear the day it will come to an end. Mr. Seal and I are quite the pair and life with him by my side is extremely rewarding—I am so thankful to have found him. Together we are planning a black-tie San Francisco affair for 250—light on the stuffiness and with lots of extra Seal-y flair.
About Mrs. Seal

The Sealman and I have decided to exchange gifts on the morning of the wedding. Initially, I was against the idea—we were having a big, pretty wedding and get to spend the rest of our lives together, what more do we need? But then I saw a gift that I really, really wanted to get him and decided it was only fair to afford him the opportunity to do the same. :)

I’ve mentioned this before, but Mr. Seal sold his big, expensive gold and diamond chain in order to buy me the most beautiful engagement ring he could find. For that, I’ve held onto a bit of guilt—even though I didn’t personally love the chain, I knew that it meant something to him so it therefore meant something to me. Some guys aren’t into diamonds or flashy things but, as we’ve established, Monsieur Seal isn’t your average dude.

My Mr. Seal is also a watch guy, so when I saw this beautiful, diamond accented Bulova watch—I knew it was the gift for him.

In person—thought you can’t tell by my pictures—you can really see the beautiful mother-of-pearl face and just how pretty and shiny the band is.

In addition to the watch—given his undying love for his Yankees—I had to get him something Yankees related. I’m a sucker for spoiling the Sealman (as he is for me).

I initially only intended to purchase one item and this was what I bought.

It’s a keychain with game-used dirt from the old Yankee Stadium—I think the Sealman will really appreciate it.

BUT THEN…I found something else I just had to get him. I know I’ve yet to share with you our groomsmen’s gifts but—for now—let’s just say Mr. Seal will fit in perfectly with his dudes.

The cufflinks are made from a game-used Derek Jeter jersey. El Capitan happens to be the Sealman’s favorite player.

Anyhow, I bought these gifts over the course of almost two years and, perhaps I went a bit overboard, but whatever. He deserves it.

Are you exchanging gifts with your partner? If so, what did you get?

He is one lucky guy!! My fiance and I never discussed giving each other wedding day gifts but I also love to spoil my man. While on a trip to Costa Rica, he really started to enjoy a good cigar so I am surprising him with a cigar roller the day of the wedding and I got him a humidor with his initials engraved in it. I can’t wait!

We haven’t officially decided to exchange gifts the day of but I am already planning! :-) I’m doing something similar as Mr. Red Sox is a watch fan and the cufflinks, great idea! I plan on getting Mr. Red Sox cufflinks made from baseballs used at Fenway Park in a Red Sox game as well as a brick which will be put into Fenway with our names and wedding date on them! :-)

I’m the queen of multiple-gifting people. So I don’t think it was too much at all. I think it was just right!
