Miss Fox's Picture
Miss Fox, Washington DC/Havre de Grace, MD Age and Occupation: 26, Massage Therapist Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Field Support Engineer Engagement Date: April 18, 2010 Wedding Date: June 2012 Venue: Vandiver Inn About Me: I’m a dancer turned massage therapist who was born and raised in New York. Alas, true love has brought me “south” where I still maintain my penchants for pretty shoes, wine, crossword puzzles, cherry blossoms, and the Mets. I own more sunglasses than a normal person should and don’t eat red meat (though I make up for it by eating my weight in sushi). I tend to be a big planner who likes to get things started early, but generally end up being indecisive and procrastinating when it comes down to it. I have a (not so) secret crush on Chris Carrabba, but my loyalty and love ultimately goes to the future hubs, of course! Together, my Foxy man and I love to discuss (read: debate) politics and current events, have Mario Kart and Scrabble duels, and just laugh. A lot. We’re hoping and planning for a laid back, fun, summery, rustic vibe to our June wedding that will be genuinely “us” – that is, if we finally make some decisions. Huzzah!

I Really, Really Like Planning

September 26th, 2011 @ 7:20 am by Miss Fox

Which has led me to become obsessed with MindMeister.

When I first started following Weddingbee, I was stoked to find Mrs. Pencils, a fellow Maryland bride. I decided to go through most of her old posts to get ideas and information about weddings in the DC/MD area since quite frankly, I was still pretty clueless about a lot of things despite living in the area for over two years. During this process, I found a post where she mentioned MindMeister (you can read it here), an incredible map-it-out, list-type website. To which I now have everything related to the wedding mapped out on:

I Really, Really Like Planning : wedding havre de grace resources Picture018

It is amazing because I tend to lose track of what we already decided on and what ideas I have and don’t have; in a word, it’s fantastic for scatterbrains like myself. The best part, though?

You can download an app to your phone that allows you to just type a word or idea in, and it will automatically update your map! Super convenient—even though I now have “organized” wedding things spread between MindMeister, my blog, my wedding binder, Pinterest, and my hard drive. Yep.

Do you have weddingy things spread between several different mediums? How do you stay organized?

I worked for someone who would mind map her days. If you saw your name in the center circle you knew you were going to have a rough day lol.

I have never seen this before but I think I am definitely going to have to try it! Unfortunately with only a couple of days to go I think it is too late for the wedding :(

In the education world we call them graphic organizers, but I love this tool! I think it could be a great help.

Great to hear you’re loving MindMeister! We’re always amazed at how users from around the globe use our product, and we’re honored to be part of any couple’s happiest day.

In addition to supporting users as a planning and brainstorming tool, MindMeister also functions as a publishing tool. Our mind maps are able to be embedded in any blog, allowing readers to fully interact with your map. I’ve done a writeup on how to do this over at the MindMeister blog: http://bit.ly/byaBFk

Thanks again for the mention, and all the best this coming June!!! :)
