Miss Aardvark's Picture
Miss Aardvark, Beaver Dam, WI Age and Occupation: 23, Assistant Product Manager Fiance's Age and Occupation: 31, Business Analyst Engagement Date: May 28th, 2011 Wedding Date: April 2012 Venue: St. Philip Catholic Church/Arcadia Brewing Co. About Me: I am a resourceful lady who love surprises and adventure. At the same time, I value traditions, family and friends. I like to make crafty messes, sometimes, clean them up, and do pretty much anything outdoors. The Mister and I are pretty avid cyclists---we have nine bikes in our home right now...and one motorcycle! We both enjoy eating food we can't pronounce (language doesn't really matter) and going places we've never been. We currently reside in rural Wisconsin, enjoying the cheese and beer it has to offer, and getting outside whenever we can!
About Miss Aardvark

Some Very Engaging Pictures

September 27th, 2011 @ 7:52 am by Miss Aardvark

I absolutely adore our engagement pictures. One of my favorite things about them was the price. The very best Price. FREE! as in $0.00. Perfect. If you recall, my mother was visiting us when Mr. Aardvark proposed. She is a very talented armature photographer and was able to work wonders with my dinky little point and shoot! The day after we got engaged the three of us trekked out to a park near our house and got some really great shots. We were both still giddy and glowing over the new engagement and I really think it comes through in the pictures.

So without anymore unnecessary yapping, here are a couple of my favorites:

Some Very Engaging Pictures : wedding beaver dam engagement pictures Albumc Album+C

I like to call this one the “Album Cover” I am pretty sure neither of us were ready for the picture but it looks kinda cool. Right?

Some Very Engaging Pictures : wedding beaver dam engagement pictures Dip01 Dip01

Some Very Engaging Pictures : wedding beaver dam engagement pictures Twirl Twirl

There is a really nice band shell in the park, so we decided to put on a little show.

Some Very Engaging Pictures : wedding beaver dam engagement pictures Bandsh Band+Sh

I think we were instructed to “Look wistfully into your future” or something like that.

Some Very Engaging Pictures : wedding beaver dam engagement pictures Skirt01 Skirt01

This is one of my very favorite pictures. Thank goodness I was wearing a slip!

Some Very Engaging Pictures : wedding beaver dam engagement pictures Rocks Rocks

We were very precariously perched for this one. I think I may have actually been falling.

Some Very Engaging Pictures : wedding beaver dam engagement pictures Bythe By+the+

Some Very Engaging Pictures : wedding beaver dam engagement pictures Leanon Lean+On

That last one is so dreamy…

Some Very Engaging Pictures : wedding beaver dam engagement pictures Theend The+End

These are just a few of the many good shots we got that day. I am so grateful Mama Aardvark was able to take them. Now that the wedding is drawing nearer and we have our photographer booked, we’ve learned that their package include a complimentary engagement session! With our daily lives in Wisconsin and the wedding (and wedding photographers) in Michigan, we are unsure of how we will pull that off. Maybe we will get some day after shots… any suggestions?

*All photos are personal, and cute! (Not to brag [well maybe to brag a little]).

Did you score something for free from a “friendor” or family member?

Depending where you’re at in Michigan. We used our complimentary engagement photos in our package as a beach shoot after the wedding. We were an hour from Lake Michigan so we went there after the wedding and got some beach shots instead of engagement pics.

Woohoo! They’re adorable.. I just love the one of your skirt billowing in the wind (and huzzah for slips!). As for the comp e-shoot, I agree with Morgan - why not see if you can use for a “day after” shoot or a trash the dress session, if that’s your thing? Cardy did an AWESOME day (or few weeks) after shoot that came out amazing.. post here: http://www.weddingbee.com/2011/06/13/take-my-sweater-day-after-photos/

@Luna, Ha! great catch, no my mother is not an armature photographer, she is in fact an amateur photographer. Although she may have taken photos of armatures over the years…. Good catch!

*Hasty spell check strikes again!

I love the idea of an after-wedding shoot! I also love looking at TTD pictures but I’m not sure if I could bring myself to do it… maybe… Thanks for the advise!

Beautiful! You can always ask them for a price reduction if you don’t want to us the engagement session (my friend also got more photog time added to her wedding.) My photog took $100 off and free travel.

Adorable! We hired our wedding photographers for our engagement session, but I actually took photos for my MOH for her engagement shots to save money. I must have taken over 400 pictures that day and it was so much fun!

You guys are total naturals in front of that camera! They’re SO good and what beats free? NADA!! I agree, too, that the excitement shines through!

I love the last picture and totally support the idea of a ‘day after’ shots, or maybe a ‘trash the dress’ sesion, I also love the ‘after everyone left’ pictures of the couple in and empty and messy venue.
