About Miss Fox

Website Warbles

September 28th, 2011 @ 1:15 pm by Miss Fox

I’ve been doing a lot of wedding website trial runs lately. I started out with The Knot, moved onto WedSpace, and ended up with My Wedding, which I still wasn’t happy with. Now I don’t need the créme de la créme when it comes to a website, but I like to customize, and make things colorful and personalized. And, I don’t know, justify something to center if I really want to. None of the aforementioned websites were giving me that option, and I was getting mad. Fox growl.

So then I thought, what if I recreate a Blogger (or Wordpress) site to make it look like a normal website, and have that be ourwedding website? I basically know how to edit and format Blogger to make it do something close to what I want, so I gave that a go. Then I kept hearing how fantabulous Wordpress was, so I tried that. And failed miserably. I don’t know you all do it.

Back to Blogger I went.

I’d like to say I was relatively successful. Here’s a preview of what I have so far!

Website Warbles : wedding havre de grace websites Foxweb fox+web

It’s still a work in progress, but I have to say that I’m kind of loving it. Our colors will (should) run along this general theme:

Website Warbles : wedding havre de grace websites Wedding016 Wedding016

So it’s kind of all matchy-matchy with the background, which I love. Now, to actually get some content on there, besides our beautiful shining faces. Hah.

Do you have a wedding website? What host site did you ultimately decide to use?

OK, why didn’t I think of this? I’ve had SUCH frustrations with our wedding website on WeddingWire. Too late to change it now, but I’ll keep it in mind in case friends ask me for suggestions later :-) Looks great!

we have a wedding website, which we actually listed on our invitations for info instead of tons of little cards in the envelope. we use weddingwire and i’m happy with it, though the fonts are a little funny to work with sometimes.

Your website is adorable! I am technologically challenged, and tried to follow Mrs. Ostrich’s tutorial on Blogger wedding websites even though I have two blogs on Wordpress. I had no success. I decided I don’t really need to customize anything, and stuck to a pretty template on WeddingWire. I am too impatient to make the Internet pretty. Haha. Major downfall.

We stuck with Weddingwire because it had the ready made templates, and I was too lazy too make a new one with wordpress. I love your colors! So fun! Perfect for a summer wedding!

Looks beautiful! Love the colors! I went with Project Wedding….I was able to customize it more than any other website would let me…but it was still a template so I didn’t have to fuss with it too much which was kind of nice.

I don’t have a website yet, but I’m definitely thinking of using blogger. I keep my blog there already, so I’m think that will probably be the easiest option for me. Plus it’s free and easy to customize.

I used weddingwire.com. I absolutely love it. Even the techies at my Dad’s job love it. It’s totally customizable and you can justify things to center!
Blogger works too, but weddingwire has a lot more options for tabs that are already pre-designed. I’ll PM you my site.
