Mrs. Magic, Chapel Hill, NC Age and Occupation: 30, Licensed Clinical Social Worker Fiance's Age and Occupation: 30, Researcher Engagement Date: December 1, 2009 Wedding Date: October 2011 Venue: Barn at Valhalla About Me: I’m a tall drink of water (5’10”!) and a Southern bride with an enormous appetite for Mexican food, good deals, anything French, and all things wedding! By day I am lucky enough to work with individuals with autism and their families. By night, I’m even luckier to be able to spend time hanging out with awesome friends, crafting, shopping, thinking about exercising, and kicking it with Mr. Magic and our two cats. I tend to have sudden, intense cravings that will not be denied (seafood enchiladas! new jeans!) and I’m prone to being a disorganized mess of anxiety and stress. After waiting (and waiting!) to get engaged, I am finally planning the colorful, fun, fabulously awesome Fall wedding of our dreams. In an effort to share the fun and craziness that is wedding planning, I’m gonna blog about it for y’all---the good, the bad, and the pretty!
About Mrs. Magic

And some stripey straws, too!

So, I’ve been meaning to do a ring post for a while, and then, seriously, I was thinking about how I should try to take a pic with my cat and my ring, and then Miss Fox posted her post that said that cat-and-ring photos are tough, and then I saw Smizz lying there all sweet and I thought, “Let’s do this.” So we did.

I actually picked out my ring. Well, I was all like, “I want something like this, with this plain band. I do NOT want diamonds all around the band.” Mr. M was totally fine with that.

And then it turned out that something like that was hard to find, so he just got that exact one. Dunzo.

Choosing our bands was pretty simple, too. We both wanted something plain, and Mr. M liked the titanium. Quick and painless.

Did you and your partner have an easy time choosing rings?

Choosing rings was the simplest thing we did, I think ;)

Choosing rings was one of the most difficult things we did. We looked everywhere. Discussed maybe having to go the custom route. Found an estate ring. It broke and couldn’t be repaired. Started the search again. Found a ring and had to change out the stone. Went thru two stones and I finally have a ring. Now to find a wedding band to match. You know FI is cringing, right?

We were on vacation and happened to run into a Tacori shop…We both knew other rings couldn’t compare to the one we saw that day. :)

I wanted to be there when he shopped for my ring. Honestly, it took a total of 15 mins to find, negotiate and purchase my beautiful ring! LOVE IT! <3

We had a semi-easy time becuase I picked out the exact ring I wanted. It was gorgeous! Round center with halo and split shank setting with diamonds down the sides. I went to the jewelry store, tried it on and that was that. The only issue- he didnt actually want to buy for 6 more months! The price of the setting alone went up 1,000 so it was a no go. We then wen to a design studio and designed my ring. Oval center, halo with diamonds down the side. I love it even more than the first!

We haven’t chosen our rings yet, but picking out the e-ring was pretty easy so I’m hoping that will be too.

Oh and I <3 your kitty!!

Bwaaa I’m jealous that you got your cat to stay still during glamour shots! Hehe.. maybe I’ll have to try again. And I just love your e-ring.. glad that finding the band was quick and painless. We are definitely not having that experience so far lol. I blame on the halo (haaalo haaalo).

Haha, this is so fun! And plain bands unite! Sometimes I feel like the only girl who’s e-ring band isn’t blinged out.

I designed my ring. Well, I sent him three options I loved, and he had one made that combined all three. I don’t know what wedding ring shopping will be like though.
