Mrs. Jaguar, Sydney Age and Occupation: 27, Primary School Teacher Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, IT Consultant Engagement Date: August 8, 2009 Wedding Date: June 2011 Venue: Curzon Hall About Me: I'm an Australian girl who is a self-proclaimed nerd, loves all things stationery and would be lost without books, music and the internet. Mr. Jaguar and I have been together for the past eight years and he finally popped the question last August. Hurrah! We currently live in Sydney, Australia with our adorable cat who thinks he's a person. We're a couple who likes to multi-task: we've been planning a wedding abroad, a permanent move from London to Sydney, and preparing to build our own home all at the same time. Travelling makes me giddy...as does Mr. Jaguar, of course!

You and Me: Wedding Shenanigans

September 30th, 2011 @ 3:49 pm by Mrs. Jaguar

Our wedding reception seemed to disappear in a flash before my eyes. One minute we were just being introduced, the next minute we were dancing and mingling and it was almost time to leave. How did that happen?

We spent some time mingling with our guests and attempting to get to every table, which is way harder than it looks. Mr. Jaguar and I grabbed each other’s hands and made the rounds, thanking our friends and sharing our excitement.

Meanwhile our guests continued to boogie…

…and mingle with one another on the dance floor.

It was at this point that Mr. Jaguar kindly offered to go and get me a cold beverage, since we were parched from all of the schmoozing. He headed toward the bar, I began chatting with a friend…and after a while, I realised that my new hubby had been gone for some time. Where’d he go? And where was my drink? A little searching, and I found him.

Well, lookie here: a certain someone got sidetracked at the open bar. But he wasn’t alone…

Those sneaky groomsmen!

It’s OK, though. I also made my way to the bar. And why wouldn’t I when we had these babies waiting for us? Mo-straws! Made with love by my maid of honour and loved by all!

But, like all good parties, the wedding festivities were about to come to an end.

Let’s start at the very beginning—it’s a very good place to start.
Our wedding rehearsal went by in a flash.
We finished off our last-minute projects at home.
I had some girly time the day before the wedding.
I checked into the bridal suite and spent the evening alone.
A prank call woke me up…to my wedding day!
The girls had their hair and makeup done.
The boys relaxed and took it easy playing pool.
It was finally my turn to get beautified!
The boys suited up and looked legen…wait for it…dary.
I put my dress on and became a bride.
My bridesmaids and I rush, rush, rushed to the church and arrived early!
The wedding began with a processional…
And the Jaguars were wed.
Our guests waved us out of the church with our homemade ribbon wands.
We took some bridal snapshots in the wind and rain.
I took a few moments with my new husband, just him and me.
Our bridal party posed with us as the daylight began to fade.
We relaxed in the bridal suite…and I got sewn into my wedding dress!
All of our wedding details came together beautifully.
The Jaguar bridal party made their way into our reception…
And on the way there, I took a tumble and landed on my butt!
We were spoiled with gorgeous speeches from our loved ones.
Mr. Jaguar and I snuck out to take some evening portraits.
We got tangled up in champagne toasts and cut our lovely cake.
Our first dance, to “You and Me,” was a bumbling success.
We got our slow dance on and opened the floor with a little jazz.
The party started and our guests put on their dancing shoes!

Oh no, I feel the recaps winding down :( I love those ‘mo-straws’ Never seen one before. And I’m with you on the whole ‘weddings wind down in a flash’ To my everlasting shame, I forgot to make the rounds. Not that I would have made a dent with 20 tables at the reception :)

It is so hard to mingle and visit with everyone! Mr. P and I actually found having a buffet helped with this. We flew through the line and scarfed down our food ridiculously quickly. And then we just went down the line and chatted with everyone while they waited for their food. We made their wait a little more pleasant, and we got to say hello to everyone. It was perfect!

And BTW, I am totally digging the mustache straws!

Truly a joyous atmosphere as there are many happy people dancing and laughing. I wonder what it would be like to have a wedding reception as wonderful as this…
