Rock On!

October 4th, 2011 @ 8:19 am by Mrs. Skunk

When I was still an un-engaged bee lurking ’round these parts, I saw Mrs. Cola post this about her guestbook and immediately fell in love. I just saw that this post was from over a year before I was engaged. I may or may not be blushing…this waiting bee was antsy in her pantsy. Don’t judge!

Anyways, I knew we would have to do this. Over the years, my mom and I have panned all up and down the Chestatee River and in addition to gold flecks an small garnet nuggets, we collected lots of river rocks. Don’t tell DNR on us!!! We’re finally putting them to good use by having our guests write little messages on them. At the ceremony, we’ll have them place their finished rocks in one of two of these.

Tell me I’m not the only one that remembers getting baths in one of these babies when they were a kid?

Post wedding, we’re going to display them in a large glass vase (that I bought from Ross for $6.99!!!) so that we can see the messages through the glass. I can’t wait for a cheesy romantic night when we get to cuddle up and re-read all the messages folks left for us!

How will you display your guestbook when the wedding is over?

Love it! I was at a wedding where they used rocks as little “place cards”, but I like your (and Cola’s) idea way better! That’ll be a fun, mushy gushy night when you read them all!

Thanks y’all! The only thing I need to figure out is what type of marker to use…suggestions?

I was thinking about this rock idea too! I’m just having trouble getting Momma Kettle on board. A basic sharpie should work depending on if you’re planning on submerging the rocks in water.
