Miss Doe, Northern California Age and Occupation: 24, Real Estate Assistant Fiance's Age and Occupation: 23, Recycling Manager Engagement Date: December 25, 2010 Wedding Date: May 2012 Venue: Monte Verde Inn About Me: I’m a Rat Pack fan and a Christmas nut that loves to read, good wine, cheesy ’80s movies and ’90s sitcoms. My wiener dog with an attitude problem and lazy basset hound are my constant source of entertainment. He's a hunter and I like cooking so it's not rare to see wild game on our dinner menu. Both of us were born and raised in a small historic farming town where our feet are still firmly planted. We have been together for nearly a decade and have shared many life experiences together, including birthdays that are only one day apart. We are two old souls that are creating our long-awaited wedding with loads of tradition that blends our two styles into rustic elegance in the foothills of Northern California.
About Miss Doe

No Boycott This Time

October 7th, 2011 @ 9:23 am by Miss Doe

My dad and I have what some might consider an irrational level of expectation for customer service. It might be a sickness—I’m not sure. I like to think of it as expecting the best from people. My family thinks we both are a little cuckoo. We keep a running list of all the companies that we have personally boycotted due to bad customer service. I mean, really, is it that hard to run a company with good ethics and have people answer the phone who are nice? Apparently for some it is difficult. Typically, though, the boycotts run their course and for some reason or the other we need something from that company and then—whoops—the boycott ends.

That being said, when there is a company who exceeds our expectations then you know it is a good place to do business with. Today I would like to share with you a company that has received five stars in my book.

When I started researching options for save the dates, I was flabbergasted by some of the prices. I really wanted to do magnets, but not if it was going to cost me an arm and a leg. I came across a website called Magnet Street, a company that prides itself on having products that are completely customizable. I began browsing their website and noticed their prices were very reasonable. On top of that they will send you free samples, which includes a coupon to use if you decide to order with them. You can even order a customized sample and they will credit the six-dollar cost to your final order, which means essentially it is free. This all seemed really fantastic but, come on, there had to be a catch. In my experience the companies that have affordable products tend to skimp on other areas such as quality and customer service.

I.Was.Wrong. They continuously proved to me throughout my save-the-date purchasing process to be a five-star company. They immediately returned all of my emails with detailed answers. Proofs were quickly sent to me. The employees were helpful, knowledgeable, and very friendly. The very best part: I received my order within two weeks of ordering. I was also very impressed with how they had everything packaged.

I am majorly blown away by Magnet Street because not only is their customer service top notch but their prices are very reasonable and the quality of their products is impressive. You don’t see such a well rounded company very often, and so with that I just had to share all of this based on my experience. No boycott this time!

What is most important to you when booking vendors and ordering with companies? Is it price, quality, or customer service?

Have you had an experience that left you pleasantly surprised?

I am also using Magnet Street. It is a local company for me, my dear friends wife is a designer there. I am happy to see you liked your goods. We are ordering our STDs in one week.

We used Magnet Street for our STDs as well as for ordering envelopes for our invitations (I did the non-envelope part of the invitations all myself and it was really tough to find anyone who’d just send you envelopes). I was also impressed with this company and recommend them to anyone and everyone looking to do magnets and invitations. :)

I ordered my save the dates with Magnet Street too and loved them. I loved being able to design the colors and font, etc right there online and make as many revisions as I wanted. (I’m a control freak afterall ;-)

We also plan to use them for our thank you cards so that we can include a nice wedding photo. I’ve already started designing!

I have to say, though, that I wasn’t terribly impressed with their invitations. I looked into it and I thought the print quality was poor but I can’t say enough about my Save the Dates. Very Nice!

Wonderful to know about Magnet Street! I can’t express enough how important quick turn around and communication are for me when dealing with customer service. Zappos is by far one of my FAVORITE companies to deal with and order from.. I’m continuously amazed and how well they run everything!!

We got our STDs and invitations from Magnet Street and I was also blown away by their customer service. We initially chose an artsy sunflare shot for our STDs where you couldn’t really see my husband’s face and they emailed to double check it was what we wanted. Which then prompted me to do a poll around the office and convince my man to show his face.

I emailed them a new picture and they redid the proof within a day, and walked me through cancelling my old order and placing a new one, totally free of charge. Both magnets and invitations turned out great.

I ordered from Magnet Street. It was my favorite item to order. Everyone love love loved them. I have abot 20 left cuz I over ordered but so worth EVERY penny. Even the envelopes have foil.

I loved the customer service with 123 print. Free samples in linen, recycled, etc. I got a lot of help online and got my invitations through them and bonus 20% promo ! I spent more on stds.

I had an AWESOME experience with Magnet Street as well! I would recommend them to anyone looking for STD magnets =)

They were even so accomodating as to extend the expiration of a coupon I had because we were waiting for our customized sample to arrive and it didn’t come before the coupon expired. I could not have had a better experience!!

You and your dad sound like me and my dad! I had to get some car repairs done in the last two weeks before the wedding, and we had terrible service. My dad couldn’t wait till the work was done and we could both write Yelp reviews. Yelp has quickly become his form of personal justification for horrible service.

BTW, I’m so glad you found a great company to make your STDs, and I am on pins and needles for the reveal!
