Can you believe it’s already been a year?! I surely can’t. Our Napa wedding seems like it was six months ago at most. The whole day is still so vivid in my mind, it feels impossible that 365 days have passed.

We stuck to the traditional “paper” theme for our first anniversary and I promised I’d share the crest I made for the husband. I’m sad to say that the colors aren’t quite right, but we live on Guam…I have to take what I can get. He was very surprised and pleasantly impressed by my leopard drawing skills. I was too, to be honest!

He did well with the theme, but he did cheat a little. I wasn’t supposed to buy myself a new journal the week before our anniversary, but I did and that changed his plans. He gave me a book I’ve been wanting (it will be perfect for our 16 hour plane ride next week), but there was also a small black box at the bottom of the bag!
“Honey, you cheated! This isn’t paper!”
“Well, I paid for it with paper, so that counts in my book.”

I don’t know if you can tell, but it’s a necklace with the seal of Guam. Every time we walk into the jeweler I must comment on how I want one before we leave island. So perfect for our anniversary. We met on Guam, lived on Guam and as we’re leaving I get to take this back with me. Love it.

We celebrated with dinner at one of our favorite spots on island, complete with escargot, a bottle of wine, steak, and key lime pie for dessert. I love wedding anniversaries!
Our first married year was great, but the second looks to be shaping up even better. Thanks so much for letting us share our wedding memories with you!
