The Mister and I are pretty avid cyclists---we have nine bikes in our home right now...and one motorcycle! We both enjoy eating food we can't pronounce (language doesn't really matter) and going places we've never been. We currently reside in rural Wisconsin, enjoying the cheese and beer it has to offer, and getting outside whenever we can!
About Miss Aardvark

World Wide Web

October 10th, 2011 @ 2:53 pm by Miss Aardvark

For some reason, saying (OK, typing) those words makes me feel all nostalgic for dial up…but then I remember that horrific noise and the warm fuzzy feelings are gone. However, this post is not about the history of the internet; it’s just about my, well, Mr. Aardvark’s and my little corner of the web.

It seemed to me that having a wedding website was an important but not very interesting thing, so as I mentioned before, I put this task in Mr. A’s more than capable hands. He is an IT type by profession, so I thought this would be no big deal. Let me tell you, he did LOTS of research on the various free and “free” wedding websites available and finally landed on Project Wedding.

I have to say, he did a fantastic job! I am not sure how much of it was custom work and how much was pre-set templates, but it looks really nice (if I do say so myself).

There are lots of pre-set templates for pages such as registry and engagement photos, and you can add and delete tabs as you wish. But my very favorite part is the map. It’s just a plain old Google map, but all of your points of interest have cute little icons, like these:

How much fun is that? I really like it. AND I feel like it gets me off the hook for making cutesy little maps to put in the invitations! (That’s right, Miss Aardvark—you do not need those cute little maps. Nope. It will be OK if you don’t have them. You will regret having to make them…and obsessing over them… You really don’t want them.) Sorry, sometimes I need to remind myself of things.

Do you have a wedding website? Do you love it? What’s your favorite part?

I didn’t know about the icons either (and I’m pretty sure we used the same site)!

Love those cute little icons! I think my favorite part about our website (wedsimple) is all of the planning tools, and how the tools and the website all link together.

It looks so cute! We used the Knot because that was all I knew back then, and I kind of hated it, but whatever. Our website was really sparse and not helpful (Mr. P never even put in his bio!), but all of our guests read my blog, so it was all good!
