Mrs. Fox's Picture
Mrs. Fox, Washington DC/Havre de Grace, MD Age and Occupation: 26, Massage Therapist Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Field Support Engineer Engagement Date: April 18, 2010 Wedding Date: June 2012 Venue: Vandiver Inn About Me: I’m a dancer turned massage therapist who was born and raised in New York. Alas, true love has brought me “south” where I still maintain my penchants for pretty shoes, wine, crossword puzzles, cherry blossoms, and the Mets. I own more sunglasses than a normal person should and don’t eat red meat (though I make up for it by eating my weight in sushi). I tend to be a big planner who likes to get things started early, but generally end up being indecisive and procrastinating when it comes down to it. I have a (not so) secret crush on Chris Carrabba, but my loyalty and love ultimately goes to the future hubs, of course! Together, my Foxy man and I love to discuss (read: debate) politics and current events, have Mario Kart and Scrabble duels, and just laugh. A lot. We’re hoping and planning for a laid back, fun, summery, rustic vibe to our June wedding that will be genuinely “us” – that is, if we finally make some decisions. Huzzah!
About Mrs. Fox

Superstition Shmuperstition

October 11th, 2011 @ 5:17 am by Mrs. Fox

Right now, I have five tattoos. My third was this simplistic beaut on my left wrist.

An infinity sign, you say? Well, yes. But look a bit closer (hi kitty!)…it’s really two S’s intertwined. I’ll give you a hint: both Mr. Foxy’s name and mine start with an S. Not exactly a coincidence.

I knew I wanted a tattoo that pertained to Foxy and me in some way without having his name written in big letters across my stomach, thug-life style.

Hah. How mad at me are you right now for posting this?! / Image via Family Rights

So I tried to come up with clever ways of intertwining two (or more) S’s, since Foxy wanted to get one as well, as long as it was something he liked.

I, personally, eventually went with the most basic. And I love it. I think it wore on Foxy, because a few months later he got the same thing, just bigger and on his arm instead of his wrist.

So there you have it. We have matching tattoos that represent one another. Hopefully you don’t think I jinxed our relationship by this, but if you do? I think that I am going to prove you wrong. Ink is permanent and I am 110% aware of that. I think this was the most “rational” tattoo I’ve gotten, and I love it. :)

Anyone else with matchy-matchy love tattoos? Or one to represent your SO?

We had thought about it… but I think a tattoo on my FI would just look odd. He’s said he wants on, but I don’t think his commitment to it is strong enough (and for a tattoo, it really should be!) I know I want another, but I think I will wait until after the wedding. :-) Your designs are beautiful! I love the elegance of them.

Just to let you know… it’s a “simple” beaut; simplistic means naive and has a negative connotation (dumb, misunderstood, etc)

DH and I got matching tats on our one year anniversary. Ours is the infinity symbol, and then we have our wedding date (month and day) in the two “holes” that the infinity sign creates. :)

We’re going to be getting ring tattoos. Nothing more jinx worthy than that right? Only I like to think we’re a little more responsible than say, Pamela Anderson?

@kcroxyoursox: Love the idea of putting the wedding date in the openings of the infinity sign!
@Miss Skunk: I actually have a post about ring tats coming up ;) Now YOU need to get out of my head. Sheesh.

my and my FH got matching anchor tattoos on the outside of our wrists – mine on my right hand and his on his left since he wont be wearing a ring too much. plus when we hold hands they match up.

but i was one totally against it – thought it was bad voodoo – but its something we’ve talked about for awhile and we’re settled and “anchored” and now we just love them. sometimes instead of giving high five we do tattoo bumps!

I really like the simplicity and elegance of your tats. My mister would look soooo weird with a tattoo. If he came home with one, I would fall out laughing.

We have matching tattoos – not each others names, but a phrase in Italian that we agreed was very “us”. I love yours :)

I love your tattoos! They look great. Mr. BC has tattoos and I have one that I got when my mom beat cancer. We have been talking about getting one after the wedding. I love incorporating your initials. Your double S’s work out better than our E and L I think!

These are so cute! I love the design and it’s simplicity, as well as the fact that it represents you and Mr. Foxy without saying “I HEART MR. FOXY” across your torso!

I got 2 tiny stars added to the moon I already have on over my heart, for FI and his son! I also have his first initial tattooed as a toe ring! Can’t stand things between my toes and love the initial ring I wear on my right hand, so had it copied in his fav color on my right 2nd toe.
He is inkless, but likes my 3 tats.

That IS super cool! Love the intertwined “S”es!

We did see a groom with his wife’s name tattooed on his finger though: http://robertpaetz.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/SecludedGarden015.jpg
