Miss Fox's Picture
Miss Fox, Washington DC/Havre de Grace, MD Age and Occupation: 26, Massage Therapist Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Field Support Engineer Engagement Date: April 18, 2010 Wedding Date: June 2012 Venue: Vandiver Inn About Me: I’m a dancer turned massage therapist who was born and raised in New York. Alas, true love has brought me “south” where I still maintain my penchants for pretty shoes, wine, crossword puzzles, cherry blossoms, and the Mets. I own more sunglasses than a normal person should and don’t eat red meat (though I make up for it by eating my weight in sushi). I tend to be a big planner who likes to get things started early, but generally end up being indecisive and procrastinating when it comes down to it. I have a (not so) secret crush on Chris Carrabba, but my loyalty and love ultimately goes to the future hubs, of course! Together, my Foxy man and I love to discuss (read: debate) politics and current events, have Mario Kart and Scrabble duels, and just laugh. A lot. We’re hoping and planning for a laid back, fun, summery, rustic vibe to our June wedding that will be genuinely “us” – that is, if we finally make some decisions. Huzzah!

Are You My Mama Llama?

October 12th, 2011 @ 5:15 am by Miss Fox

Or…are you for reals my wedding heels?!

First and foremost, before we get to the good stuff, I LOVE ZAPPOS. If you haven’t used them yet, find a reason to! Sure, they have a huge selection of shoes. Sure, they have free shipping. Sure, they have a 365 day return policy.

They also sent me two pairs of shoes within 24 hours of ordering them. I didn’t even ask them to…I was perfectly happy waiting 3-5 days for their standard free shipping when I ordered a few pairs one morning back in April. When I got an email early afternoon on the same day saying that they were already being shipped, I thought, “sweet!” Then, when Mr. Foxy texted me around 1PM the day after to tell me that they were just delivered?

My jaw hit the floor. Amazing. And perfect, because I’m probably one of the most impatient people you’ll meet.

As I mentioned, I made this purchase back in April—with spring and Easter season starting up, there were lots of pretty colored shoes out there that weren’t available a few months prior. And one of those colors was fortunately turquoise.

Now remember when I said that my wedding shoes should ideally be closed toed and under 4″?

Yea, scratch that. Beggars can’t be choosers. I need turquoise shoes. And the only ones I’ll even consider are all coincidentally open toed and 4″+. I can’t help it. It’s my style.

So without further ado, options please!

Are You My Mama Llama? : wedding havre de grace shoes Rsvpja01 rsvp+ja01

rsvp Jaceline

Option numero uno: I included these on my list last time, and finally bought them. They are super cute, aren’t they?!

rsvp Lovely

Option numero dos: rsvp Lovely. These are…lovely. They have sparkly heels and are just a bit taller than the Jacelines.

My main issue is that they are two very different colors in real life. The Jacelines are more of soft teal color, and the Lovelys are more of a bold turquoise. I’m more partial to the bold turquoise on the Lovelys, but am so in love with the style of the Jacelines.

And my pasty-ness.

You know.. just looking at these pictures and the ones of my dress? I feel like I might know which I like better.

But I want your opinions! What do you think? And have you used Zappos yet?

I.LOVE.THE.JACELINES.

They are both beautiful. But I just spent 5 minutes drooling over the Jacelines. So classic!

I love them both, but the flower on the Jaclines just do it for me. You can’t go wrong with either one!

Hahaha I didn’t clue in you were trying on one of each shoe and didn’t like that only one shoe had a flower. I can clearly see they are different shoes now. oops.

I like the colour of ‘lovely’ better, but I would add flower shoe clips because the flower just makes it feel more complete and awesome!

I love, love the Jaceline. But, if you like the bolder color of the other shoe, get some shoe clips to spruce them up. My newest obsession thanks to Etsy.

I don’t think you can go wrong with either pair, but I prefer the Jaceline solely because of the flower.

It’s tough! I’m with you that I love the shape and detail of the Jaceline and the color on Lovely. Could you get an Etsy seller to make you flowers/shoe clips similar to the Jaceline in the Lovely color? And as I’m writing this I see Miss Porcupine already thought of that.

Zappos doesn’t exist in Canada anymore, but thankfully Endless and Amazon are awesome alternatives. I’m still amazed at how super fast they ship across the border!
I know what you mean - I love the bolder teal, but I love the style with the rosette. I guess when it comes down to it, you can’t lose! :) Good luck with your decision!

I like the Lovelys more for their color! Can you maybe make a cute little flower to pin on to the Lovelys a la Mrs. Cola? And Zappos will be my first stop for wedding shoes, for sure!
