Miss Fox's Picture
Miss Fox, Washington DC/Havre de Grace, MD Age and Occupation: 26, Massage Therapist Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Field Support Engineer Engagement Date: April 18, 2010 Wedding Date: June 2012 Venue: Vandiver Inn About Me: I’m a dancer turned massage therapist who was born and raised in New York. Alas, true love has brought me “south” where I still maintain my penchants for pretty shoes, wine, crossword puzzles, cherry blossoms, and the Mets. I own more sunglasses than a normal person should and don’t eat red meat (though I make up for it by eating my weight in sushi). I tend to be a big planner who likes to get things started early, but generally end up being indecisive and procrastinating when it comes down to it. I have a (not so) secret crush on Chris Carrabba, but my loyalty and love ultimately goes to the future hubs, of course! Together, my Foxy man and I love to discuss (read: debate) politics and current events, have Mario Kart and Scrabble duels, and just laugh. A lot. We’re hoping and planning for a laid back, fun, summery, rustic vibe to our June wedding that will be genuinely “us” – that is, if we finally make some decisions. Huzzah!

The Shoe Saga Continues

October 14th, 2011 @ 7:20 am by Miss Fox

I don’t know why I’m so obsessed with finding my wedding shoes right this instant.

OK I lied, I do know. It’s because I want  them in my possession before I go to my first dress fitting.

That being said, I was browsing everyone’s favorite obsession site (AKA Pinterest) the other day and saw these:

I don’t even need to tell you why I’m in love. Just look at the TURQUOISE SOLES. Amazing.

I did some research (aka looked at the caption) and saw that the brand, Pour la Victoire, has a whole line of bridal/wedding shoes, many of which are sold on Zappos. Which is where I saw these:

Are you dying yet? You should be. They’re amazing.

So I ordered those babies on the spot at about 10:30pm. I woke up the next morning to an email from Zappos saying that they already shipped them, and got them in the mail the very next day. Seriously? I said it before, I’ll say it again, and no I’m not being sponsored: I love Zappos. Big puffy heart love. That’s twice in a row that I got my shoes in less than 48 hours!

So the shoes are totally gorgeous both off and on. They are a unique shade of ivory that I’m a bit cautious about, since I’m not sure it will “go” with the dress. Then again, I never really cared about that kind of stuff, and I’m not inviting the fashion police to the wedding, so I should be OK.

My one gripe is that the only turquoise is on the soles, and I really want something by the peep toe. If these work with the dress (both color and height wise), I’m thinking of shnazzing them up a bit. Maybe bling it out with some turquoise crystals or take off the bow in the back and put a flower in the front. I have no idea. But the world is my oyster and these shoes are totes-magotes the pearls.

Terrible analogy, but you get it.

Meep!

Are you jazzing up your wedding shoes in any way?

I love these shoes! Love the turquoise soles! The front of the shoe allows limitless possibilities to schnazz them up! Google shoe clip on accessories. There are many many options out there :)

I wonder if there’s a way to stain the sole of the shoe/peep-toe. Meaning, when you look down you see those peeping toes and turquoise underneath/showing around them. Maybe fabric paint? Tested on cheap shoes to not ruin these??

Just beautiful, especially on you. Peeps are endlessly easy to snazz up, from clip-ons designed for it to just snapping on a hair accessory.

Might I also recommend considering painting your nails a fabulous turquoise?
