Miss Doe, Northern California Age and Occupation: 24, Real Estate Assistant Fiance's Age and Occupation: 23, Recycling Manager Engagement Date: December 25, 2010 Wedding Date: May 2012 Venue: Monte Verde Inn About Me: I’m a Rat Pack fan and a Christmas nut that loves to read, good wine, cheesy ’80s movies and ’90s sitcoms. My wiener dog with an attitude problem and lazy basset hound are my constant source of entertainment. He's a hunter and I like cooking so it's not rare to see wild game on our dinner menu. Both of us were born and raised in a small historic farming town where our feet are still firmly planted. We have been together for nearly a decade and have shared many life experiences together, including birthdays that are only one day apart. We are two old souls that are creating our long-awaited wedding with loads of tradition that blends our two styles into rustic elegance in the foothills of Northern California.

Picking Fleurs- Part Two

October 15th, 2011 @ 3:00 pm by Miss Doe

I last left off at eagerly awaiting Florist A’s quote. I was really hoping that she would be within reason, because she was definitely my favorite florist between the two. Well I am happy to say that her prices were within our budget and we booked her. My chosen florist is Blooms by Martha Andrews. Let me give you a little peek into some of the incredible work she has done.

FLOWER WANDS?!? Oh my goodness, the little girl inside of me is going ballistic. How much more adorable does it get? As you can obviously see, Martha Andrews has talent that is undeniable. The details that she includes in her work is beyond perfect. When you meet her you can just tell that she is in love with what she does in life. That passion oozes out of all her wonderful floral creations.

As I have mentioned before, flowers were one of the things that I was the most excited to book. I am thrilled that I was able to find a floral vendor that shares the same vision and style as I do. Way to go Martha! You are the bee’s knees.

Did you strike gold with any of your vendors?

I’m so glad that her quote was in your budget! It was clear from your last post that she was the favorite, and I had my fingers crossed that you’d be able to work with her instead of having to take ideas she helped you come up with elsewhere. Also - flower girls with flower wands? Gah! Too cute!

OMG, that flower wand is awesome!! If I were that little girl I’d be swinging that thing around like a battle axe, beating up my cousins and causing generalised destruction.

@Roux: Ha! Me too! Heck, if I had one right now I’d be swinging it like a battle axe.

Well girls, that darling little flower girl did just what you all said you want to, she swung that flower wand all over the place and bashed it on the sidwalk as if she was fighting for her life. (all before she walked down the aisle) I am happy to report I am meticulous on my mechanics so the flower ball survived:)
