I heart cooking, sewing, baking, decorating and making sure we have a hand-crafted home. The best part about the wedding is I get to incorporate it all! I make sure I put my art degree to good use by screen printing, craft knife cutting, and a whole lotta graphic design. We're having a big-time party on a small-time budget, and I promise to show you a boot-scootin', barbecue-eatin', finger-lickin' good time! Mr. Sand Dollar and I spend most of our time on DIY projects or traipsing around the outdoors with our two pooches Rory and Juno. I'm looking forward to sharing our journey with all of you!

  • Wedding Date: 9.25.10
  • Bridal Gown Designer(s): Purely Providential (my bridal salon’s private line)
  • Florist: DIYed Butterfly Bouquets
  • Photographer: Scott V. of The Pros
  • Music: Will Kincaid, a friendor
  • Transportation: my super snazzy Honda Metropolitan scooter
  • Stationery: DIY design and screenprinting
  • Cake/Desserts: DIY rice Krispies wedding cake, groom’s cake courtesy of a friendor (for free!)
  • Catering: Self-Catered, groceries from Dixie Meat Market, cooking by a talented family friend
  • Coordination: friendor, for free
  • Hair and Makeup: Bestie C. (my BFF from Waco, again, for free!)
  • Bridesmaids’ Dresses: they shopped their closets for knee-length black dresses
  • Spouse’s attire: more closet shopping here!
  • Honeymoon: our ill-fated Carnival Cruise, which I’ve come to appreciate more now ;)

It would be super helpful if these Snapshots included number of guests!!! It is THE budget definer in terms of venue, food, drink….and whether you have to go pro or can DIY many things
