Plagued by boring old frames? Don’t be, upcycle them!

Remember to wear old clothes and take off your jewelry for this one.

I learned that it is better to be patient and do many light coats rather than fewer heavy coats with spray paint. It was a success! More paint went onto the frames than my hands. If you get the paint on you or something else, I found oil worked better than soap and water to remove it.

I just laid the frames out on an old work tablecloth and then went to town. If you have something you could hang them from like a clothesline that would probably work better because you wouldn’t have to turn them or wait for a coat to dry.

They looked great just after a fresh coat of paint, but I thought it would be a good time to bust out our surplus of buttons.

I’ll be taking a few to my aunt’s this weekend so my extended family can see what Mr. Raccoon looks like. Even after being together for years, most of my family has never met him in person. After the weekend, we can reuse the frames to hold table names or numbers at the reception.

Total cost: $7.50
I have a huge crush on buttons! Any more ideas about how they can be incorporated into a wedding?
