Greetings, everyone! We’re back with another great honeymoon, this time for Mr. and Miss Honey. The Honeys requested a trip to a beach in Florida with a budget of $2,000. I guess they want to head somewhere warm after their winter wedding! South Beach in Miami sounds like the perfect destination. There’s no shortage of awesome stuff to do in Miami, so I hope this trip satisfies their thirst for adventure.
Where To Go

Since Mr. Honey likes to ride motorcycles, I think a fantastic way to get to know the city would be to take a motorcycle tour. The tours come with one Harley motorcycle and two helmets and take place around the city at day or night, or you can even zoom along the beach.

Being a beach town, Miami has no shortage of water sports. Head to Hobie Beach if you want to do some serious windsurfing. There are also a ton of underwater wreckages that can be explored by scuba diving. If you’d rather just kick back and relax, maybe you can try the Jose Cuervo Underwater Bar. Yes, it’s literally a bar that’s underwater.

Miami’s culture is an amazing amalgam of Cuban, Caribbean, and American influences. You can easily immerse yourself in Cuban culture by visiting the Little Havana neighborhood. Miami also has a legendary selection of nightlife and the epicenter is most definitely at South Beach.

There are no shortage of outdoor activities at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. Hiking, kayaking, biking, and even picnicking (if the Honeys want to slow it down) are all available at this beautiful park.
Where To Stay

This spacious apartment is 10 minutes from the beach. The sunlight and predominantly white decor really feel evoke the Miami lifestyle!

The Honeys love nature and you can’t get much closer to nature than outside your living room. This boathouse has a lot of charm and homey decor.

On the other end of the spectrum, you can’t go wrong with this huge, modern loft for under $100 a night. It’s got all the amenities two honeymooners might need: flat-screen TV, king-size bed, and a jacuzzi.
Where To Eat

If you want to get your feet wet in Cuban food, Versailles Restaurant is a great place to start. This place has been around for 40 years and is a Miami institution.

Stone crabs are one of Miami’s popular delicacies, and the place to try them is Joe’s Stone Crab. This place has been around for 100 years and the line can sometimes get up to three hours long! It’s gotta be good, right?

I’m sure the Honeys will want a night out to celebrate their new life together, so I would recommend a trip to Naoe Miami, an absolutely delectable sushi restaurant. If sushi is a little out of their comfort zone, they can head to Prime One Twelve for steak and some celebrity sightings.
Budget ($2,000)
$50* - Gas to drive from Durango, CO to Albuquerque, NM
$650* - Plane tickets for two from Albuquerque, NM to Miami, FL
$400 - Four nights in a Miami vacation rental
$150 - Car rental in Miami
$0 - Little Havana / South Beach
$50 - Hobie Beach water sports
$300 - Motorcycle tour
$0 - Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park
$20 - Versailles Restaurant
$60 - Joe’s Stone Crab
$150 - Naoe Miami / Prime One Twelve
$170 - Miscellaneous, gas, other meals
* Plane tickets to fly from Durango, CO to Miami, FL were $1,000. Given the $2,000 budget, I think it’s worth it to save $300 and fly out from Santa Fe, NM.
