On a Roll

October 19th, 2011 @ 9:16 am by Mrs. Raccoon

So what did we decide to use as our sendoff something?

It’s a little bit like if you combined Spiderman and a kid’s birthday party.

Crepe paper is the answer!

Supplies: scissors, packing tape, crepe paper, and rubber bands.

Cost: Change from your couch cushions. Our local Dollar Tree had crepe paper at two rolls for a dollar and a package of rubber bands for dollar.

Just start rolling! It doesn’t take much time or attention. My family and I were able to make them all over a few television shows. We made them in all different sizes and decided to roll them loosely so they would unroll better when tossed.

Who wants to stand outside in the snow to pick up around 150 crepe-paper streamers?

What, no takers?

That’s why we taped rubber bands to the ends. People can put their fingers through the rubber bands, so we get the same look but they won’t go flying all over the place. Now we just need to remember to put a small trash bin out. There is so much to do with this friendly party supply!

What are you using for your sendoff?

How creative! When I first saw “kid’s birthday party” I totally thought: Are they throwing sprinkles!? Haha, as awesome as that would be I think crepe paper is an excellent choice :)

@RobynD99: Oh no! (Although that might be interesting!) It’s like we’re making mini rolls from the larger ones. In my head they have a similar effect to ribbon wands when they’re tossed. We’ll see what really happens, ha!
