Mrs. Balloons, Aspen, CO Age and Occupation: 24, Mass Communications graduate, Web Design student, & winery worker Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Engineer Engagement Date: July 10, 2009 Wedding Date: August 2011 Venue: The Sundeck at The Little Nell About Me: I'm a small-town Midwest girl planning an intimate mountaintop destination wedding complete with a huge DIY at-home reception. As an honors graduate fallen victim to the worst job market in history in my area, we're doing everything we can to still have the wedding of our dreams on a tighter budget. I currently enjoy working at a winery, but I'm lonnng overdue for a day job! I am: a big-time daydreamer, one of the pickiest eaters you'll ever meet, and a lover of pretty paper and awesome fonts. I'm a girly girl who loves to get dolled up, but also a country girl who loves to get muddy and go 4-wheeler riding. I also enjoy singing in the car, boating, going to concerts, the History Channel, carnival food, and going to watch St. Louis Cardinals baseball with my handsome engineer.
About Mrs. Balloons

I know I told you that the arrival of our wholesale flowers would be up next, but first I’d like to finish up our first few days of exploring…

While our ceremony took place in Aspen, we all actually stayed in a nearby beautiful little town called Snowmass Village. The hotels were less pricey than staying right in Aspen, and  the town was a little more peaceful than the hustle and bustle of the busy streets of Aspen. We got such a great deal on our hotel and  having never been there, I was scared that it might be a “you get what you pay for” scenario. I was very happy and relieved when we pulled up to the hotel that turned out to be an adorable place full of Colorado charm. If we ever go back, I’ll definitely be staying there again!

We spent some time exploring Snowmass starting with an early morning hike. I’m typically not a morning person, but I’m so glad that brother and sister-in-law balloons convinced us to go on this hike because I would have otherwise missed some amazing views and some awesome quality time with my soon to be husband and siblings.

With views like this on a walk or hike, no wonder Colorado is one of the healthiest states!

It was so amazing how the air just seemed to feel so much cleaner and easier to breathe.

After the hike, it was on to do some more exploring in Snowmass.

After dinner and wandering we made our way back to the hotel where we enjoyed what has to be the biggest hot tub I’ve ever seen. It looked like a small pool!

Thanks for being patient; this time I promise a post about my flowers will be up next!

Do you plan to carve out any special time with your siblings right before your wedding? What do you plan to do?
