The Christmas season and presents have always been two of my favorite things! Now I might be a little biased, but Mr. Raccoon combined these two last Christmas for a one-of-a-kind, best proposal ever!
My gift was a personalized stocking with individually wrapped Christmas ornaments inside. He told the story of us as I unwrapped each one.
The ornaments represented things such as how we met at college. (We have a strange mascot.)
How our first date was to see Kung Fu Panda.
How he graduated and decided to move a few states away to continue his work.
And then how I tried to replace him with another furry man.
Even the time he showed up at my place with a big basket of strawberries after rush week only to be given dirty, dirty looks. The story goes that a founder was presented with a basket of strawberries from an admirer, and ever since they have symbolized friendship. It’s the same time he learned I’m intensely allergic to one of the sorority’s symbols.
Remember when I ditched and spent my summer in England? Mr. Raccoon did.
He really did a fantastic job remembering things, hunting down ornaments that matched, and even getting crafty to make some himself. The last one in the toe of the stocking was the ring box. Can you guess what my answer was?
