Save The Last Dance For Me

October 20th, 2011 @ 2:37 pm by Miss Petit Four

I know a lot of us put thought into our first dance, but silly, type-a me has been thinking about the last dance also.

I really want something that is going to tie the whole wedding together and leave everyone thinking… “That was the best wedding EVER”. I know for sure I want it to be upbeat and something we can all dance to, so I am turning to the Hive to help me decide!

I have narrowed down my choices to these three songs.

So what do y’all think?

What is your last dance going to be? Was it upbeat and happy, or romantically slow?

I have no idea what it is with that Journey song…but EVERYONE gets up to dance to do it and sing along. And i’m for ending the night on a happy note as opposed to something slower.

I just commented on another post about how awesome Don’t Stop Believin’ is! I have a soft spot in my heart for it because it was the White Sox song in ‘05, but I think it is an AWESOME wedding song and definitely will leave people with an AWESOME feeling!

I was also obsessed with the last dance and wanted something just right. Ours was “Empire State of Mind” by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys…we were heading to NYC for our honeymoon the next day, and it just seemed appropriate. We also explained that to the DJ, who announced it as he started the song for those of our guests who didn’t know where we were going. Most of the older people had already left by that time, and it was basically just us and our friends out on the dancefloor. It was really special, and I’ll always remember it!

Oh my gosh, how could you ask me to choose one of those?! I have to agree with the others though, Don’t Stop Believin’ will get everyone up and dancing. It’s just so fun and happy, you can’t help it!

We did Journey, too, and it was EPIC! We had major lip-sync-age, and the guests picked up my hubby and I and danced around with us on their shoulders.

Repeat: Epic.

Our last dance song was… Save the Last Dance for Me. We decided to end on a romantic note.

Um, I love Journey, so it got my vote. Our last dance was to Don McLean’s American Pie, everyone knew it and I made everyone sing and dance along, plus it’s pretty epic.

Journey was one of our top choices, too! We went with a sentimental song, but I think high energy songs are a good way to go out. :)

I love Journey, but recently I have been listening to best night by lmfao and I really really wish we had played it at our reception, the chorus is so perfect!

the beginning lyrics are ok but you can ask the DJ to remix it so it skips to the best parts. And its awesome to dance to!

I didn’t even think about the last dance until we were on the phone with our band leader, and I was like “huh, do we want to go the ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ route, or something sentimental?” I’m SO glad we went with Journey. It gets everyone up to rally and dance/sing it out before saying last goodbyes and congrats. Highly recommend. Some of the best pics of the night came outta that song.

Our last dance song was Eve6’s “Here’s to the Night”. We played Don’t Stop Believing earlier in the night when more people were still around (our DJ stopped playing shortly after 1AM).
