Ms. Gazelle, Calgary/VancouverAge and Occupation: 32, EngineerFiance's Age and Occupation: 32, Technology AnalystEngagement Date: September 3, 2010Wedding Date: July 2011Venue: Brock House Restaurant, VancouverAbout Me: I am a marathon runner, cyclist, Ironman triathlete and beautiful shoe fiend who also loves kicking back and watching Glee. I grew up a bit of a nomad as I traveled around the world with my family, living everywhere from Australia to England to South America and Indonesia. I finally settled in Calgary a few years ago and met Mr. Gazelle who loves me even though we cheer for different hockey teams. We are planning a bit of a destination wedding in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia and we can’t wait to share the day with our close family and friends.
Mr. Gazelle and I talked about all kinds of seating options for the wedding. We contemplated designating tables for our parents but then leaving the seating for everyone else open. I then had visions of friends or family not being able to sit together if they weren’t on the ball about picking seats. I figured they wouldn’t be too happy about that. Coming up with a seating plan is one of the trickiest things in the end stages of wedding planning. I quickly realized that while we maybe couldn’t make everyone happy it would be better in the long run to let everyone know where they were sitting.
So…what would be the best way to tell everyone? I wasn’t feeling creative on designing escort cards. Instead I decided personalized menus would be the way to go! This way our guests would know what yumminess was waiting for them at the buffet and it would also let our gluten free guests know that we had special meals for them.
I picked up a few more sheets of the same gorgeous sparkly white paper that we used for our invitations from Paper Circle and some purple card stock from Michaels. I printed the menus off on our laser jet printer at home and assembled them one weekend with the help of my girlfriends.
Mrs. Skunk, AtlantaAge and Occupation: 23, Post baccalaureate studentFiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Mechanical DesignerEngagement Date: February 13, 2011Wedding Date: November 2011Venue: Neverland Farms About Me: I’m a Georgia peach born and raised in the dirty dirty. I love reading, baking lots of sweets and forcing them on my friends, and most of all, rock climbing. I am in the process of applying to graduate school in physical therapy and I work at farmers’ markets around town selling bread for a local bakery. The mister and I met while rock climbing just over two years ago and have been inseparable ever since. Our climbing friends mean the world to us and have played an integral role in our relationship. We’re planning a barnyard shindig filled with good food, good friends, and lots of love.
End of story, no questions asked, I’m a daddy’s girl. My dad is my rock and I love him so incredibly much. I thought picking out our daddy/daughter dance song was going to be really hard since I wanted it to be absolutely perfect. But really, a song came on the radio that was perfect and put me in tears. That was that.
My dad likes to joke that the scar on my back is from where they had to remove my wings because Earth wasn’t ready for an angel like me. Cheesy, I know. I barf a little when I hear it too. But it’s okay ’cause it’s coming from my daddy. Read more…

Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Online SalesEngagement Date: February 8, 2009Wedding Date: July 2010Venue: Amy's ManorAbout Me: I'm an opinionated Midwestern girl now living in the Valley of the Sun marrying a laid back Northwestern guy. I'm equal parts sass, silly and sweet. I'm fiercely loyal with a strong devotion to my family and friends. I have a not-so-secret obsession with apple juice, a new obsession with DIY projects and I love a really good cheese plate...with lots of wine. After 7 blissful years of dating, I'm having the time of my life planning the destination wedding of my dreams to my Mr. Frog-turned-Prince Charming.
Luckily our photographers were seasoned veterans and walked us through this whole sneaky surprise. Frogger waited patiently while I mastered the art of being quiet…let me tell you, not a natural trait for me. Ahem. Read more…
Miss Doe, Northern CaliforniaAge and Occupation: 24, Real Estate AssistantFiance's Age and Occupation: 23, Recycling ManagerEngagement Date: December 25, 2010Wedding Date: May 2012Venue: Monte Verde InnAbout Me: I’m a Rat Pack fan and a Christmas nut that loves to read, good wine, cheesy ’80s movies and ’90s sitcoms. My wiener dog with an attitude problem and lazy basset hound are my constant source of entertainment. He's a hunter and I like cooking so it's not rare to see wild game on our dinner menu. Both of us were born and raised in a small historic farming town where our feet are still firmly planted. We have been together for nearly a decade and have shared many life experiences together, including birthdays that are only one day apart. We are two old souls that are creating our long-awaited wedding with loads of tradition that blends our two styles into rustic elegance in the foothills of Northern California.
Ahh, the process of choosing the “something new.” Realistically, anything could be considered new: dress, veil, shoes, jewelry. It can be a hard one to pin down. While everything that your parents give you for the wedding should be considered a gift, my something new really was a gift. A college graduation gift to be exact.

Our favourite times together are spent with the sand between our toes, cooking up a storm, re-watching and re-reading every Harry Potter ever made, and spending time with our dear friends and family! We have travelled the world together in our 6 years of dating, from Paris, to Thailand, to Las Vegas, and we are tackling the many challenges of planning our special day the best way we know how---together!
Today is our one month anniversary and I am quite possibly the worst wife ever. I am precisely 17,683 km away from my husband (that’s 10,987 miles for the imperial players). I actually used this website to work out that I am actually not that far from the furthest possible point I could possibly be away from him.
If I dug a really deep hole from Sydney, Australia, this is where I would end up:
Yep, that would be just off the coast of Portugal. Next to that is Spain, where I am currently spending our one month anniversary. Read more…
Miss Kettle, Chicago, ILAge and Occupation: 26, Non-Profit Donor Resource CoordinatorFiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Musician & TeacherEngagement Date: May 29, 2011Wedding Date: February 2012Venue: Patrick C. Haley Mansion, Joliet, ILAbout Me: I'm a city girl who loves a good escape, so I'm planning a Chicago wedding outside of the city. I've been described as a quirky yet down-to-earth drama queen who loves fiercely. I used to be a scientist, but now I'm learning to navigate the world of non-profit organizations. I love cooking, blogging, shopping, and music, and movies (Hans Zimmer is my favorite movie composer). Mr. Kettle and I had a short courtship and now we have a happy home with our cat-who-thinks-she's-people, Belle. We spend our days and nights with good food, live music, video games, family, and friends. Our wedding has become this wonderful excuse to bring together hundreds of people we can't bear to be without.
I’ve had meetings with vendors and HAVE known right away if I wanted to sign on the line. I could just tell that they were right for US. It hit me like it did when I knew Mr. Kettle was the man for me. That awesome feeling I felt about my dress and our wedding venue was felt with a couple vendors.

Miss Fox, Washington DC/Havre de Grace, MDAge and Occupation: 26, Massage TherapistFiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Field Support EngineerEngagement Date: April 18, 2010Wedding Date: June 2012Venue: Vandiver InnAbout Me: I’m a dancer turned massage therapist who was born and raised in New York. Alas, true love has brought me “south” where I still maintain my penchants for pretty shoes, wine, crossword puzzles, cherry blossoms, and the Mets. I own more sunglasses than a normal person should and don’t eat red meat (though I make up for it by eating my weight in sushi). I tend to be a big planner who likes to get things started early, but generally end up being indecisive and procrastinating when it comes down to it. I have a (not so) secret crush on Chris Carrabba, but my loyalty and love ultimately goes to the future hubs, of course! Together, my Foxy man and I love to discuss (read: debate) politics and current events, have Mario Kart and Scrabble duels, and just laugh. A lot. We’re hoping and planning for a laid back, fun, summery, rustic vibe to our June wedding that will be genuinely “us” – that is, if we finally make some decisions. Huzzah!
I don’t really need a big lead-in to this because you can just look at my hover cloud/bio thingy and see that we’re getting married at the Vandiver. Kind of ruins the surprise, doesn’t it?
Anyhoot, I had been looking at the Vandiver Inn for a while. A few things let me know right away that this place could very well be our wedding venue:
2. Their website has a whole section dedicated to weddings…with basic price points listed. Chhhheck! This hardly EVER happens, at least with most of the venues I was researching. There’s usually a fun game where you email or call and wait for a response back that can take days or weeks, and I’m an antsy pants. One place I looked at didn’t respond for five months…what?!
4. Those price points listed? Are totally in our budget. BIG CHECK.
3. The day-of coordinator (herein referred to as DOC) answered my email and called within 48 hours. Check check check.
4. It’s located in Maryland, on an inlet that leads to the bay. This means water. Lots of water…and having grown up 10 minutes from the beach, I’m a total sucker for that. :)))Check times 10.

My relationship with my future husband is not even remotely like a traditional romcom movie. To be honest, our relationship has never been like that, not even at the beginning. Unless it’s a kinda boring movie that is rated PG-13 with occasional moments of The Break Up thrown in there.
We have that damn lemon fight every time I turn around.
Me: “Did you test the string lights to make sure they work?”
Him: [Blank look] “No…was I supposed to?”
Me: “Well, I asked you to do it and you said you would do it so….”
Him: “Why do we need to test the lights?”
Me: [Blank look] “…to make. sure. They. WORK!!!!”
Mrs. Ladyfingers, Saint Petersburg, FLAge and Occupation: 30, Marketing ManagerFiance's Age and Occupation: 33, Sports WriterEngagement Date: December 24, 2010Wedding Date: November 2011Venue: Palma Sola Botanical ParkAbout Me: I hail from Oklahoma, he was born and raised in Long Island. Fate brought us together, and now we live in a cute little rental house with our nutty dog, and our aloof cat. We both love to read, watch movies, explore our town, and laugh like hyenas. When I’m not obsessively wedding crafting, I enjoy stalking style and decorating blogs, making collages and painting, napping, thrifting, rearranging our bookshelves, and being a total weirdo with my friends. Hi!
I have this issue where I always have my head in the future. There’s a saying I love: if you have one foot in the yesterday and one foot in tomorrow, you’re bound to be pissing in today (sorry for the unladylike language). And that’s always what I end up doing: pissing on today because I’m so busy turning the past over in my head and making plans for the future that’s not even here yet. With me so far?
It happened when Mr. Ladyfingers and I were dating and living separately. All I could think about was living together, to the point that I had to nearly restrain myself from bringing up the idea before it was necessary. It happened when we moved in together before we got engaged. All I could think about was being engaged, planning a wedding, all that jazz. And now it’s happening while we’re engaged and before we’re married. It’s not just that I have my head in the wedding and OMG when will it get here 30-something days feels like FUREVAHHH. Read more…
Miss Aardvark, Beaver Dam, WIAge and Occupation: 23, Assistant Product ManagerFiance's Age and Occupation: 31, Business Analyst Engagement Date: May 28th, 2011Wedding Date: April 2012Venue: St. Philip Catholic Church/Arcadia Brewing Co.About Me: I am a resourceful lady who love surprises and adventure. At the same time, I value traditions, family and friends. I like to make crafty messes, sometimes, clean them up, and do pretty much anything outdoors. The Mister and I are pretty avid cyclists---we have nine bikes in our home right now...and one motorcycle! We both enjoy eating food we can't pronounce (language doesn't really matter) and going places we've never been. We currently reside in rural Wisconsin, enjoying the cheese and beer it has to offer, and getting outside whenever we can!
As I explained in an earlier post, my ladies are spread out all over the Midwest. Sadly, this made asking them all in person nearly impossible.* I wanted to do something more than just a phone call. However, I am not very patient and did not want to wait for them to get something in the mail. The solution was easy: I would make cards and call them. The best of both worlds, right? Right!
I went about collecting pictures of myself with each of the bridesmaids. I also tore out the most obnoxious pictures I could find in bridal magazines. I do not have any pictures of this process because I was not blogging at the time. So sorry.
I then cut out my own and the bridesmaids’ faces and affixed them to the overly-foofy-dress-wearing bridal-magazine bodies. (As a side note, if you are into foofy dresses more power to you! They look like a lot of fun to wear!) I then stuck these wedding-ed-up versions of my friends and me to a card, wrote a nice note, wrapped the whole thing in silver rick-rack I had lying around, stuffed ’em in an envelope, and popped them in the mail. Easy. Peasy. Would you like to see?
Bridesmaid OT was kind enough to send me a picture.

I love cooking, entertaining, reading (addicted to my Kindle) and going to the movies. I don't miss an episode of Hoarders and I start cleaning every time I watch! My profession doesn't call for much creativity so wedding planning has been a great outlet. Mr. Sunhat and I met online three years ago, cheer for rival MLB teams and share a home with our dog, Wrigley. We are planning a traditional, Polish, Catholic wedding with lots of DIY elements and some fun surprises. I'm so excited to be married on New Year's Eve and we can't wait to ring in the new year as husband and wife!
Miss Fox and I were recently on the same wavelength. She wrote this post about her parents’ wedding photos and as I read it, I had my parents’ wedding album spread out on the living room floor!
I was going through their wedding pictures trying to decide if I was going to use them in any way on our day. I’ve looked at their wedding photos many many times over the years, but I had completely forgotten an element of their wedding hits close to home as my life as a bee.

Mr. Jaguar and I have been together for the past eight years and he finally popped the question last August. Hurrah! We currently live in Sydney, Australia with our adorable cat who thinks he's a person. We're a couple who likes to multi-task: we've been planning a wedding abroad, a permanent move from London to Sydney, and preparing to build our own home all at the same time. Travelling makes me giddy...as does Mr. Jaguar, of course!
I first heard about the idea from fellow bee bloggers, Mrs. Fro Yo & Mrs. Elephant. I fell in love with the thought of spending some personal time with my brand spanking new hubby during the precious last seconds of our wedding day and the idea worked perfectly with our event conclusion. After our last moments partying with our guests, our MC cleared the room for us. Our bridal party gave us a few final hugs before heading downstairs to get our send-off ready. The only people left in the room were our videographer and our photographers. And us. Read more…

By day I am lucky enough to work with individuals with autism and their families. By night, I’m even luckier to be able to spend time hanging out with awesome friends, crafting, shopping, thinking about exercising, and kicking it with Mr. Magic and our two cats. I tend to have sudden, intense cravings that will not be denied (seafood enchiladas! new jeans!) and I’m prone to being a disorganized mess of anxiety and stress. After waiting (and waiting!) to get engaged, I am finally planning the colorful, fun, fabulously awesome Fall wedding of our dreams. In an effort to share the fun and craziness that is wedding planning, I’m gonna blog about it for y’all---the good, the bad, and the pretty!
I’m not super into jewelry. I tend to wear cheap silver hoops, my e-ring, and these other pieces almost every day. They are classic and easy and I love them.
