Look what I just gave a good home to!

French Provencial Pine Plaque

I have big plans for this one! I’ve been smitten with the family established signs from the first time I saw one. We purposely chose a reception venue that required little to no extra decoration, but a little sign that we can put up in our home later won’t hurt anything!

After painting the base with acrylic paint, I printed out and taped down a template. I made a mirror image so the ink side could be against the wood by typing what I wanted into a WordArt box and then selected “flip horizontal” under “rotate” on the formatting palette. Lightly brushing over the paper with the tiniest amount of water and then pressing down on a book set on top allowed just enough ink to transfer to where I knew exactly where to paint.

Do you plan on keeping any of your decorations?

@Miss Aardvark: We got this one at Joann Fabrics from the wood crafts section, but probably any craft or hobby store would have some you could choose from :)

Super Cute! I love this :) Now my brain is going again! Once Fall and then Christmas are over, I’ll need something on my mantle…hmm.

We hung our “Happily Ever After” sign from our wedding :) It was DH’s idea and I’m not gonna lie, I got a bit teary-eyed.

My family has one of these (in the same pretty shape!), and I would love to get one for me & Mr., but I’m not changing my name…. I’ll have to rethink the wording…

I have always loved these! I also love the ones with the pictures of architectural things that resemble a letter and spell out the name. Have you seen those?

Oooh, I love this. Maybe I’ll just make one for my house instead of buying one. @Miss Doe, I found a great tutorial through Pinterest on how to make your own photo name thingy.
