About Miss Warbler

Kate Spade is a Temptress

Alternative title: How I Ended Up With Two Pairs of Wedding Shoes

Like pretty much any woman who has ever existed, I love shoes. Heels, sandals, and fancy sporty shoes. Designer shoes to Payless shoes, I love them all. Lately, I spend most of my time online looking at shoes that I can’t afford. Or you know, couldn’t possibly walk in.

I would break all sorts of body parts in these babies.

A couple of weeks ago, my favorite shoe site, Kate Spade hosted a “Friends & Family” sale. 30% off EVERYTHING in stores and online. I think I literally squealed in my chair. Mr. Warbs looked kind of worried. A Kate Spade shoe sale meant that I could now possibly afford to buy the shoes I’d been coveting for months:

Even at 30% off, they were still pretty expensive. I started to feel guilty, especially considering we still had a ton of wedding stuff to pay for. And of course, I already have wedding shoes! What was I thinking? As I was talking myself out of it, Mr. Warbs took the decision out of my hands! He booted up his computer, searched for the sale and promptly bought them. The following Friday they arrived and I swooned. Other than getting glitter everywhere, they’re amazing shoes.

So now, I have two completely different pairs of shoes for the wedding. The Stuart Weitzman Turalus are amazing and really suit my dress. But a part of me always had doubts from the beginning that they weren’t “the ones”. The Kate Spade Charm shoes don’t really suit my dress or theme of the wedding (our colors are red and gold), but how can I not rock Kate Spade shoes on my wedding day? I know I can wear both, but I don’t want the hassle of changing shoes in the middle of the wedding. I know, I’m crazy. No one should be this conflicted about shoes. So, how about you vote on my poll and make my life shoe decisions for me?

Charm all the way! They are the most amazing shoes to ever walk! I am biased though - I wore them in silver for my wedding ;)

Jeebus my toes are hurting just looking at the Louboutins!

The Turalus you can keep for another time if you want - they’re a classy shoe. But rock out the Charms - what better occasion?

I would say the Charm for sure, but even more so because they fit you perfectly, and the other pair look like they are a size too big!

I have been coveting your Stuart Weitzman’s ever since your original post!!! They are no longer available and I have been scouring the internet looking for a pair! They are SOOOOO perfect for my Nantucket Red wedding! I’m glad you finally found your dream shoes! BTW, um…what size are those Weitzman’s??? ;-)

Everything Kate Spade is gorg! I want to wear those in blue for my wedding day but I am afraid that the heels might be too high!

The Charms are amazing! I had a dream about them a few weeks ago. If I was getting married right now, I’d definitely be looking for an excuse to buy them!

I love the Kate Spades. I wore two pairs of shoes at my wedding, but one pair were wedge sandals so that when my feet inevitably hurt I could change my shoes (they did, and I did)… I wouldn’t plan to wear two different pairs of new heels, because chances are you couldn’t. ;)

As for whether the shoes “go” or not (with your dress, with your theme, etc.) I say: screw it. ;) You love those shoes and they’re awesome. Wear them!

I have already written about my die-hard obsession for Kate Spade, and those shoes are no exception. A-MA-ZING. The others are also gorgeous, but my vote is for the sparkle!

@Neenbean: No lie, I wanted to get them in silver too! And navy. But mostly in Platinum! I’m so bad.
@mittens111211: Good eye my dear! The Turalus are half a size too big. When I FINALLY found them they didn’t have my exact size, so I got the next best thing. They do fit well though!
@Ocean: Haha! They are 10.5, huge I know.
@Ms. Gazelle: I want to see a photo of the louboutins on someone’s feet!
@Westvillebride: The heel hight is about 3 3/4. They are among the higher heels in my closet, but they’re actually comfortable to walk in.
