A Million Little Centerpieces

November 4th, 2011 @ 8:43 am by Mrs. Raccoon

Hey, hive! I’ve been feeling filled with the holiday spirit! Looking around online for inspiration, I saw these centerpieces that incorporated ornaments and fell in love. I know the Raccoon wedding is a few weeks after Christmas, but as a winter wedding I think we can slide ornaments in without raising eyebrows.

I went to the store and started gathering supplies. I picked up a few different styles of containers from the party section, and then all of the ornaments in our colors I could get my hands on. My apologies to anyone in the area who might be looking for green or silver ornaments!

I got so excited I had to see how they’d look together. I’m happy to say I think it’s going to work!

Can I have your opinion on how I should work some dark purple in?

keep searching for purple ornaments and do a few smaller ones. Over all the idea is nice. I love it

I don’t know what to vote for in the poll because I think all 3 could be great ideas! Maybe you could tie purple ribbon around the containers? Not sure if it would work for all of the styles, but I think it would look good if purple was included in the centerpiece, but maybe 3 different color ornaments would be too overwhelming? If you do go ornaments, I agree that smaller, round ones would probably look best. Hmm.. can’t wait to see what you end up with! Love the idea overall!

If you could find the small bulb ornaments somewhere and just add small splashes of purple I think it would set the whole thing off! I love this idea, I might have to steal it for the holidays :-) What about finding clear glass ornaments and either filling them with glitter or painting them with purple glitter?

What about some dark purple ribbon curled around loosely? It might add a nice third texture/dimension.

There’s definitely a couple ways you can tie in purple to the centerpieces! (btw, LOVE ornament centerpeices, and you can def use those again on your tree :) ).

1) purple fabric below the centerpieces or ribbon around it.

2) clear ornaments filled with purple glitter glue! (or furniture polish and loose purple glitter, that works too). You could also just fill the clear ornaments with purple tulle or something to give the color.

Those are awesome I do think smaller ornaments would really make a statement though.

I think the best option kind of depends on how formal you want to go? More colors = less formal and more playful to me, but in a good way!

You could even try a purple LED light in the bottom of the vase for purple light? My favorite, though, is holding out for purple ornaments. :)

Oo yes, I vote for adding some small dark purple ornaments in there - maybe also accenting with napkin colors!
This idea is just so festive, I love it. =)

i think a purple ribbon - and if you do not want to go with glitter you can also get those clear ornaments and put bits of purple ribbon in them. I dont think you need very many purple ornaments maybe three in a centerpiece. i am sure you can find purple ornaments somewhere. honestly i would look at a craft store like hobby lobby. i think it excellent that you are looking now - people always tell me to wait for the sales, but stuff is on sale now and there is a better selection now.

I have been trying so hard to avoid our wedding looking like a christmas wedding but I LOVE the look of ornament centerpieces and almost went this route as well! They look amazing. I think if you found some fun, funky small purple ornaments to mix in, it will look fab!

I think adding some smaller purple ornaments would look good.. I’m loving the ornament idea in general, though. So pretty and holiday/winter-esque!
