Well, The Dress Doesn’t Fit

November 4th, 2011 @ 8:10 am by Miss Petit Four

That’s right, bees. My wonderful, lovely, ever-so-perfect dress doesn’t fit!

I went to my first fitting this weekend and we did get it to zip, but it’s soooooo tight around my booty. Most people try and lose weight for their wedding, but I gained some! Who does that?

Lucky for me, I’m participating in a three month personal training program.

The best part about the plan is that they’ve planned out all my meals for me on my Google Calendar, which takes out all the guesswork on my part. I don’t know about y’all, but that’s where I’m really clueless. They’ve also gave me several different workouts to choose from so I don’t get bored.

OK, now without further ado, the before pictures: (after further consideration, I decided not to post a picture in my sports bra…You’re welcome) :)

Well, The Dress Doesn't Fit : wedding fitness isla mujeres Picture030

I probably need to lose about 10lbs for my dress to fit comfortably. I know it’s possible and totally doable. I have four months until the wedding, so I just need to get my little porker butt in gear! I’ll keep y’all posted.

Did you unexpectedly gain some weight leading up to your wedding or after you bought your dress? What do you think lead to the gain, and how do you plan on losing it in order to fit back into your dress?

I haven’t had my first fitting yet but it not fitting is my absolute biggest fear!
Good luck, you are my inspiration!

Oh my goodness…you are NOT porker. But I do have to thank you for your post, because I am gaining weight instead of the opposite myself. I weighed myself this week for the first time in MONTHS and what can I say…I need to stop eatting. I’m definitely one of those people who eats when she’s stressed. So trying to lose weight while I plan a wedding is not easy. Good luck on your 10 lbs. You’ll look fabulous!

Thank you for sharing this!!! My dress came in this week and when I went to try it on the same thing had happened!!!! I was devastated!!! I didn’t realize I had gained close to 10 pounds since ordering my dress so I too will be hitting it hard to loose the excess. I have until June and I’m hoping to lose about 20 pounds just to have it fit perfectly with no alterations. Ten pounds would do it but I don’t want to take any chances!!!

I have to second Merelton that you are so not a porker, but I can’t wait to hear how the program goes. I do everything in my Google Cal, so the meal planning sounds awesome!

Haha- I seriously yo-yoed the months leading up to the wedding. Lost 20 as of three months before the wedding. Two months before I gained close to 10 while doing field research. Lost 5 in the month leading up to the wedding.
The dress fit, not as well as it could but oh well.
I ended up gaining those 5 back on the honeymoon and are still fighting it 3 months later.

Can’t wait to hear how the plan goes! I love how everything is planned out on Google calendar. That’s always the hard part for me!

Don’t worry mine didn’t fit the first time either. I’m naturally a 4 on top and a 8 on the bottom (thanks mom for my lovely but and hips) so when the dress came in and it was a size 6…i freaked out!! It zipped up all the way but i literally could not move…i was like a stuffed sausage and could just stand there and look nice but that’s about it. They changed it for a size 8 and still had to take it out at the hips and take it in 2 inches at the top. All in all it now is pretty much perfect. I have my last dress fitting next Friday and am hoping that the last 2 weeks of not going to zumba class due to moving hasn’t caught up to me. It will all work out and i can’t wait to watch your progress!

I hear you. When we got engaged in February, I *swore* I would lose 20lbs before we took our engagement pictures. Well, it’s Novemeber, we’re taking our engagement pictures, and I think I’ve gained 5lbs! WTH?
Hoping I can lose at least some of this before our wedding in May. Determination, Ms PF - we can do it!

I am so worried about this myself! I lost a ton of weight in the months leading up to purchasing my dress, and now I have to try to hold steady at an uncomfortably low weight for seven more months. Mer!

By the way you look super cute and I’m sure the wedding dress looks awesome!

my dress fit perfectly a month ago, about 4 more to go. I’m cutting out my weekly “breakfast taco friday” with my co-workers, so sad :( but it will be worth it in the end. Good luck!
