Miss Hawk's Picture
Miss Hawk, Richmond, VA Age and Occupation: 26, Finance Fiance's Age and Occupation: 30, District Supervisor Engagement Date: March 13, 2011 Wedding Date: May 2012 Venue: The Chapel of the Sir Christopher Wren Building, 2007 Legacy Hall About Me: I’m an Arizona-born girl who has spent the majority of my life living below the Mason-Dixon line. The South has definitely earned a special place in my heart (alongside my Virginia born and bred fiance, of course!). We are planning a traditional Christian ceremony at my alma mater in historic Williamsburg, Virginia, followed by a rocking reception filled with Southern cooking and vintage/shabby chic details. When we’re not wedding planning, we enjoy spending time with our three dogs, going for runs together, watching plenty of football (or baseball depending on the season), and sampling new wine.

Swooping In: Miss Hawk!

November 9th, 2011 @ 10:03 am by Miss Hawk

HI Y’ALL!

I am so completely overcome with excitement, shock, and maybe even a dash of disbelief mixed in to be writing my first official post as a bee! I feel incredibly blessed and honored to be able to share my wedding journey with y’all. Being one of the first couples in our group of friends to tie the knot, being cross-country from my family, and attending only one wedding in my adult life, I was so L.O.S.T. when it came to wedding planning. But when I found Weddingbee, I truly felt like I found a group of supportive, wedding-crazed friends to help me along my way. I hope that I can provide the same support and inspiration that y’all have provided me!

So on to a little bit about the Hawks:

Personal Photo

I am an ultimate girly girl and an animal lover. I’m the dog mommy to three adorable dogs: Bella, Tug, and Jetta. (Yes, we have three dogs and, no, I am no longer allowed to be a foster mom.) I am also an avid reader and undercover nerd. I have had the privilege of living in four different states while growing up, but I now call Virginia home.

Mr. Hawk is a sports fanatic and native Virginian. He’s an extremely hard worker and dedicated to his job, which often takes him on the road. In his spare time, you will most likely find him snuggled on the couch with his Jetta-dog either watching whatever sport happens to be in season at the time, reading ESPN.com, or playing Madden on his Xbox.

So why Miss Hawk? I’m worried that I’m going to disappoint. I don’t know if I have a really good reason. When Pengy formally announced the woodland generation, I was immediately drawn to her. She just looked so feminine to me. (Mr. Hawk says it because she’s wearing lipstick. So maybe that’s it.) But I also think it may be because she looks fierce and focused. When I set my sights on something, I can be that way, too. And she has brown feathers like the color of my hair. Is that enough reasons? I hope so, ’cause that’s all I’ve got.

xxoo,

Miss Hawk

Welcome! I had only attended one wedding in my adult life before I started wedding planning too- but I think that actually helped because I had less preconceptions! Looking forward to hearing about your plans :)

Thanks again everyone for making me feel so welcome!

@Mrs. Earrings: I think you’re absolutely right. It was an overwhelming feeling at first, but have found it easier saying no to things that people say “everyone does” since I don’t really have anyone to compare my wedding to!

@gogogiraffes: You’re getting married at the Diamond? That’s awesome! Mr. Hawk and I literally live there during the spring/summer. We have talked about gifting ourselves season tickets for next year!

@Mrs. Pony: You are too sweet! Thank you. :)

Hey, we’re like state twins! My FI is a native Virginian as well, and I lived in 4 other states before moving here. Crazy. :D

@Miss Hawk: We have them! We’re getting married June 2nd, before the gates open, so no public, BUT I will be throwing first pitch with my BIG OLE PUFFY DRESS ON! So if you’re there, come say hi! I’ll even save you a cupcake, if you’re nice ;)

And as for season tix. YES! I love it, We live there. I missed like 4 games over the year, and we splurge another 150 for the parking pass up front.
