Mrs. Zebra, Providence, RI Age and Occupation: 24 Marketing/Costume Designer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26 Management/Firefighter Engagement Date: December 12, 2008 Wedding Date: March 2011 Venue: The Providence Biltmore About Me: I'm a small town New England girl with an affinity for procrastination, crossing the proverbial line, and putting her foot in her mouth. I'm a lover of history, all seasons, sewing and Incubus. I design costumes on the side for my old high school's theatre department, which is where I met my sexy man. Our motto for our Big Fat Lebanese/Portuguese/Irish near-300 person wedding is "the more the merrier"! We are marrying in a Catholic ceremony and are hammering out the details of our Victorian-inspired reception.
About Mrs. Zebra

The top floor of The Biltmore is dedicated to the ballroom and banquet space. Our guests were able to enjoy cocktail hour while listening to our fantastic DJ, Brendan Lafferty, tickle the ivories. The bride and groom are able to enjoy cocktail hour from a sort of additional floor/balcony above the banquet space. While enjoying the passed hors d’oeuvres, beer, and wine, our guests were able to mingle with old friends and relatives.

It was during this time that Sara Zarrella and her assistant Lauren were able to capture some beautiful images of the then undisturbed ball room. I so badly wanted to see the room prior to the guests but didn’t want to risk being stopped on the way. There would be plenty of time to reminisce later on. For a few glorious minutes at our wedding, Zeb and I were completely alone listening to the happy chatter and wonderful music of cocktail hour just below.

Zeb and I realized that we had a few minutes. We looked at each other mischievously for a minute and thought we might have enough time to sneak down to our room to freshen up (wink wink). We ran over to the elevator like two little kids and as the doors opened, and my sister and the twins came out. They were followed by most of our bridal party. Shortly thereafter our host for the evening, provided by The Biltmore, came up with a huge tray full of hors d’oeuvres and champagne. Our sneaky plan was foiled but it was totally okay, there would be plenty of time for that other stuff later…a lifetime, really.

Starving and in desperate need of some libation, we bellied up. We helped my sister follow through with the bribe that allowed for the twins to walk down the aisle. (You’ll see what that is in the next post.) The girls were able to bustle my incredibly dirty train and we were able to just enjoy a few happy moments with some of the people who mean the most to us.

Oh, I love all these detail shots! Your reception space looks amazing! So, so beautiful! And I know what you mean about your train getting dirty–mine was filthy about five minutes after I put it on!
