A moment of gratitude today to honor the hive’s veterans and families of veterans. We thank you for your service today, and every day.
We’ve asked for you to share your wedding pictures with us today for this blog.
Mrs. Teacup and her maid of honor, both graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1999 and served tours in the Middle East.

mareundarum’s brother (all the way left) is Navy, her husband is Army, she’s Navy. They are definitely a military family! This picture was taken after her brother welcomed her husband into the Navy.

Miss Marine had been out of the Marines for two years when she was involuntarily recalled to deploy to Iraq… turns out, everything happens for a reason and she met the man of her dreams during her recall. Mr and Miss Marine were married on September 3, 2011!

Mrs. Sand Dollar’s dad, a Vietnam vet, walked her down the aisle last September. She’s so proud of his sacrifice for his country.

Amanda from @myscratchoffs served eight years in the Air Force and her husband is currently still serving: 11 years, 8 deployments. They will been married eight years on 2/29/12

@Jenn1682 ’s dad is an Army Veteran. He served in Vietnam.

totheislnds’s brother is 24 years old and 10 1/2 months younger than her, currently serving in the US Marine Corps, with one tour in Iraq in 2007 behind him and has spent the last seven months training the Afghan Army before returning home at the end of October. He signed up when he was 14 and just reenlisted!

Her brother in law was also in the Marine Corps and did 2 tours in Iraq right after 9/11. He is now a policeman. Pictured with him is her amazing Father In Law who was in the Navy, graduated from Annapolis and saw combat in Beruit:

Here she is with her husband and my BIL on her wedding day:

totheislnds is so proud of her Military family!
mrs_pugetsound ’s husband has been in the Navy for six years. He is a submariner.
“The time spent apart is hard, but I am so proud of what he does.”
Here are some of her favorite pictures of him:

Exchanging rings on their wedding day
piglet_625 did not post a picture, but let us know, “my DH is in the Navy and this is our first Veteran’s Day with him actually being a member of the armed forces.
I’m so proud of what he does and it really is a humbling thing to be married to a man with such a drive to protect our way of life and to ensure our safety. He is my hero, my inspiration, and I get my strength and any bravery I possess from him.
It’s also a very sobering day for me. While it’s a day to celebrate what my DH does for this nation, it’s also a very real reminder that he WILL be going to do business with our enemies someday. The nature of his job is such that he will deploy and show force with or without a war. It’s bittersweet because while we celebrate their bravery, it’s a reminder that he must be brave in the face of danger. Danger that may mean he does not come home.”
Thank you. Thank you. Take the time to thank our service members not just today, but every day.
