It had been way too long since my last baseball reference, so I had to do it with this title. Go White Sox!
Now down to business. Since we have covered my shoes, my dress, and my veil, I figured I’d keep the ball rolling and share another piece of my wedding day look (although this will probably contribute more to our sweetheart table look since I don’t plan on carrying it around all night, but you get the idea): my purse!
Here is a pic of my everyday purse (yes, I am cruel and dragged Adam to SeaWorld San Antonio on his birthday last winter - I love dolphins that much).

As you can see from the pic, it would make an excellent something blue. However, even though my wedding is be no means fancy shmancy, I don’t think my lovely Anthro bag is very fitting for a formal occasion. This means I will need a wedding day clutch.
A clutch was one of the very few things that I did not extensively research online before purchasing. In fact, I did not even look at a single purse online before committing to mine (yes, I do realize that this is perhaps not the most important commitment when it comes to the wedding, but I was still pretty proud of my quick decision making).
So, here’s the story of my first not-over-analyzed, totally spur-of-the-moment purchase when it comes to the wedding. Embrace it - this might be the only one!
It happened when I went up to Chicago one weekend this fall for a reunion with my Vandy girls. I flew in on Friday morning, and we weren’t meeting up until Friday night, so Mama Dalmatian drove into the city and we had the afternoon to do whatever we pleased. This, of course, meant antique shopping! You see, my love for exploring antique shops and digging through many no’s to find the one perfect yes was passed down to me directly from my Mama.
So, we hit the Chicago antique market, and we hit it hard. We came across a small metal mesh clutch. That sounds weird and makes me think of some sort of 80’s grunge bag as opposed to a glamorous bridal accessory, so let me provide a little visual aid. This isn’t the actual bag we saw, but the texture looked a little like this.

I liked it, but was certainly not ready to purchase. Um, hello, I had not done my endless online research! I figured I would go home, think about exactly what I wanted, search and search and search various websites and stores for options that met my criteria, and then make a decision. Sometime next spring, perhaps. This plan, however, was shattered (as many good plans are) when we came across another clutch in a different antique store later that afternoon.

It was in the window display. I awkwardly stretched and crawled and reached to get my little hands on it, and once I did, I was sold. It was small, but really, how much does a girl need with her on her wedding day? The bridal suite will be a mere hallway away, after all. I seriously adored all the detail. The entire clutch is beaded, with the floral details hand embroidered. There are a few subtle stains on the inside, but I think it just adds a little vintage flair!

So, Mama Dalmatian did a wee bit of haggling (an art I have yet to master) and we made the purchase. I still have not done any clutch browsing online, but I am pretty sure I couldn’t possibly find something that I would love more.
