About Mrs. Teaspoon

Our beautiful morning included a very relaxing time with the hair and makeup artists and a nice cup of tea. The photographers arrived right on time, with my special card from Mr Teaspoon. He had to make me tear up right after my makeup lady, Mandy, had left. Yes, this is my “trying not to cry so I don’t ruin the false eyelashes” face.

The champers was on ice, ready for celebrating.

And my beautiful dress was hanging from my custom wedding dress hanger from Rockabuycreations on Etsy. She (I’m just going with she, as I’m not about to have a boy dress, that would be weird) was just blowing ever so slightly in the wind. I got this photo idea from the beautiful shot that Mrs Lox has of her dress.

My beautiful bouquet was looking beautiful on the hardwood floors at my parents’ house.

The girls and I spent some time on the balcony, with our lovely matching embroidered hoodies, which worked so well with the hair situation. Just to note here, A has a wrap dress on under her hoodie, so that is not a whole lot of bra, but in fact, a dress.

My little bottle of perfume made the day smell so sweet, especially after all the angst I had choosing it.

Now, there were a lot of layers to my dress. I think we counted 18? Don’t quote me on that though, I’m not sure the counting was exactly reliable. Regardless, it was quite the effort for my devoted bridesmaids. Each layer was fluffed just right as I held up the remaining layers. Mum was clearly supervising.

Turns out that all those layers make it really hard to put my shoes on, so M stepped in (ha ha ha, I’m  hilarious) to help. This was a little ridiculous. Although, those shoes look freaking amazing if I do say so myself! More on my “somethings” later, I promise.

It turns out that my little bro was quite good at carrying my wedding dress  to help me out to the backyard. This is where the stones are on the ground, so there were lots of leaves and sticks amongst the rocks for us to navigate through.

This is actually one of the few “bridal portraits” I have. I thought you might appreciate my bangin’ eyelashes! After my trial they were a little troublesome, but I thought I could make do. On the day of they were absolutely perfect and I couldn’t even feel them.

One picture with the girls—this is one of my favourites. I love the colours of it, with the girls’ dresses and the bright green trees behind. I’m glad Mum was busy pruning all year to get them looking very luscious.

After the formal photos outside, we headed back inside because my Mum, brother and J (bro’s girlfriend) were all waiting for their car to arrive and it was almost time for our cars to arrive as well! I was about half-way into the house when either A or M literally yelled at me for getting my dress so full of leaves when we weren’t even at the church yet. They were back on their knees picking out more debris from the ever-catching tulle. I’m sure I made some lovely comments about being at one with nature. I really love this picture because of the detail of my dress that it shows—it’s actually not really captured in many of the shots.

Our photographer told us that photos would help us remember specific details of the day and bring us right back there. At the time we were like, “Yeah, sure thing champ—whatever” but this is one of those few moments that I remember really well. My dad was being an absolute goose and hamming it up for the camera and saying things like, “this is where we point just here and pretend like it’s something really interesting.” Yep, my bouquet was apparently that interesting.

I have no idea what I’m laughing at here, but it was probably just nerves because M didn’t find it nearly as funny.

Soon after the photographers left to head to the church, our cars had arrived and we were on our way to the chapel. About the point where I went across the Spit Bridge (a significant bridge for those who live on the Northern Beaches of Sydney—you have left the beach when you cross it) I started getting short of breath, a little shaky, and a little nauseous. I relieved that by texting a picture message of me in the car to my dear friends L and L who are both in London at the moment (little did I know that I can’t send picture messages to UK numbers) and my temporary anxiety was gone just with a short message from her. I must remember to tell her that!

To revert back to my very first post—holy bee poop Batman, I’m getting married! It had sunk in finally… Married folks, when did the nerves first hit you on your wedding day?

@cassleeh: The bridesmaids dresses were from Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/shop/staysilee I ordered the colour “Navy”. It did take me a long time to find that colour though!
@Miss Doe: Im still using it every day!
