Miss Hawk, Richmond, VA Age and Occupation: 26, Finance Fiance's Age and Occupation: 30, District Supervisor Engagement Date: March 13, 2011 Wedding Date: May 2012 Venue: The Chapel of the Sir Christopher Wren Building, 2007 Legacy Hall About Me: I’m an Arizona-born girl who has spent the majority of my life living below the Mason-Dixon line. The South has definitely earned a special place in my heart (alongside my Virginia born and bred fiance, of course!). We are planning a traditional Christian ceremony at my alma mater in historic Williamsburg, Virginia, followed by a rocking reception filled with Southern cooking and vintage/shabby chic details. When we’re not wedding planning, we enjoy spending time with our three dogs, going for runs together, watching plenty of football (or baseball depending on the season), and sampling new wine.

Favors and Guestbook? DONE and DONE

November 23rd, 2011 @ 5:43 am by Miss Hawk

Since I confessed my love for photography, it should hardly come as a surprise that having a photographer and second shooter at our wedding was just not going to be enough. I wanted to incorporate other ways to photograph our guests having fun.

Attending my cousin’s wedding about a year and a half ago, I discovered the wonder of the photo booth. They had fun props like boas, funny glasses, hats… Now I know this is nothing new to the wedding world, but since it was the first wedding I was able to attend as an adult, I just thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread! And as a twist from the guestbook norm, they had a table set up with scrapbooking pages, stickers, and markers so that guests could make their own page and offer well wishes and advice to the couple.

Pretty much as soon as we started planning I kept mentioning the photo-booth idea to Mr. Hawk. Having never been to a wedding featuring one, he couldn’t quite grasp my enthusiasm. It wasn’t too difficult to finally get him on board. (I’m sure my incessant gushing had nothing to do with it.) But we were still unsure that it was in the cards due to budget constraints with our reception venue. Well, remember how I told you that booking Legacy Hall really opened up some wiggle room in the budget? Well, HELLO PHOTO BOOTH!

Luckily, Williamsburg Photo Booth was available for our day, and we didn’t hesitate to book them. And like at my cousin’s wedding, they will provide a scrapbook to serve as our guestbook for everyone to leave a message with a copy of the photo strip. I intend to make some cute little signage with instructions on the guestbook and may even DIY some of those cute mustaches that I’ve seen popping up all over the web. But I am extremely happy to report that both our guestbook and favors are basically complete!

I want a photobooth sooooo bad, but since we’re outside, they can’t. I thought about asking if they could set it up inside our suite but that’d be a lot of hassle and I think we’re having more guests than what was originally planned. :/

I love how your double dipping with the photobooth! I totally love them, and am itching to see if there’s any way we get one at the wedding, as well!

I wanted a regular photobooth, you know the black and white kind that comes in the strip, I thought it would be fun and I set aside part of our budget for it. But then I shared my only wedding dream and that was to have for the ceremony and my wonderful fiance gave in. I am so excited, I really wish I could sit and be a guest during my wedding and listen to the fabulous prewedding music. We have two photographers so I am sure we will get lots of photos. My fiance is banned from picking up a camera - he becomes a fanatic with camera in hand :-)

I wish our budget allowed for a fun photo booth, :(

Two birds with one stone, hum, I haven’t been that lucky yet.

We set aside room in the budget for a photobooth too! I actually wasn’t sold on it, but my FI is so incredibly excited about it that I just can’t say no to him! So photobooth it is! :)

Photobooths at weddings are so much fun! We aren’t having one for logistical reasons, but I definitely would have one if we were having a different kind of wedding. Your guests are going to love it.

We’re not having a photo “booth” but setting up a photo wall ourselves. We bought the software online. This way we can fit more people and tons of props. We had an extra room at the venue so why not. I am also doing the scrapbook. We have pre scrap-booked about 40 pages for the guest who arent feeling the creativity. They will only have to write in their comments and glue one of two photos down.

Nicely done! I’m doing a DIY fauxtobooth b/c I knew I “needed” to have one regardless of my budget.
