This was by far the most nervewracking part of the day for me. All I wanted to do was get down the end of that aisle and see Mr Teaspoon. I’m getting jittery even now just writing about it. We arrived in the beautiful sunshine outside the school that held the chapel. Yes, I look like a giant ball of tulle. My smile here is a little, “Let me get out of the car, I want to get married already!”
I made sure that Papa Teaspoon had my trusty hanky just in case. In hindsight, giving it to dad was a poor decision; I should have given it to Mr Teaspoon so he could have it in his jacket for me. I guess you will have to wait and see if I needed it or not.
Mr Teaspoon was ready to wed:
Father Chris was ready to bless:
Mother in Law Teaspoon was ready to marry off her first born son:
There was a little miscommunication between us and our photographer which left us waiting outside the church before we walked down (just me, my Dad, and M and A). He actually came back out saying very politely, “are you ready to go?” Whoops, we were waiting for some unknown signal? Who knows… anyway, it was showtime!
I walked down the aisle to Ode on a G-string by Bach.
Down went M, followed by A:
Oh crap, now it was my turn. Ignatius was there to high-five me on the way. I could see all our family and friends in there but I couldn’t see Mr Teaspoon yet! Never have I experienced such a mix of emotions.
This is where dad almost lost it, I didn’t realise it until I looked back over the photos. That’s his almost-cry-face. One of his really good friends was just up there on my left, so I’m not sure what happened, but he was able to regain his composure.
Oh, my beautiful dress from the back, this is what I wanted—this exact image.
I am so incredibly excited in that last photo—I made it all the way down the aisle. I hadn’t fallen over, I hadn’t cried my eyes out and my very very soon-to-be husband was waiting for me at the end with the biggest smile I have ever seen. As soon as I saw him, I was my normal, relaxed-self once again.
