Hi there! I can’t believe that I’m writing this post…it feels so surreal, and I am just so SO honored. In the course of a couple of hours, I went from emailing Mrs. Penguin about whether my auto response (you know, for rejection) had gone to my email doppleganger* to receiving an invitation to join the hive. WOW.

So, who are the Turkeys?

You’ll learn a lot about us over these next five-plus months, so I’ll keep it short. We’re (now resident) Philadelphians planning a black tie (optional) party in the City of Brotherly Love. We’re going fancy-pants because we clean up pretty nice!

Now, why Turkey, you ask?

1. We found out about the acceptance just before Thanksgiving (arguably our favorite holiday).

2. Our favorite character on Splash Mountain is Br’er Turkey, and we had a chance to visit him this past weekend. (He survived another year.)

3. We thought it was funny!

Despite keeping this brief, I suppose you learned a couple things about the Turkeys—we like Disney and…I like lists. A LOT. You’ve been warned.

*Long story, but there’s someone out there who shares my name, and our email addresses are very similar. I know this because I often receive personal messages intended for her (awwwwwkward).
