Never in my life have I hugged pretty much everyone that I know in a matter of half an hour! I actually really enjoyed this part of the day. Apart from every single person telling me I looked beautiful, that they loved my dress and that the Top Gun theme was Amazeballs…this was the first time I got to say hello to many of our guests and albeit brief, it was lovely.
I started out with little bro’s girlfriend. At this point I was still wanting to look pretty and carry my bouquet. That was ditched rather swiftly.
My Grandad walked out of the church, wandered over to give me a hug, and I swear all I did was say, “Hi Grandad!” and he began to cry tears.
He assures me they were happy tears! I may or may not have made a small quip about him not wearing a kilt; he was threatening to for months before the wedding to wear one (he has recently discovered our long lost Scottish heritage apparently).
My other Pop—for some reason he chose to wear a tartan bow-tie. I think Grandad was jealous he didn’t think of that.
This is A, one of my dear high school friends, who looks really really happy in this picture! Probably because she was threatening to flash me as I walked down the aisle if I looked like I was losing my shiz. She’s probably relieved she didn’t have to.
This is Mr Teaspoon with E, one of my friends from primary school. Apparently our photographers only took photos of me hugging everyone?
Sharing the love with my new in-laws.
This photo actually made me giggle when I saw it. C is staring straight at the camera and I was not in the least surprised…when I sent him an email wit,h “you just couldn’t help yourself,” he wanted his wife and our other friend photoshopped out—I’m guessing so there would be more focus on him? I’m actually a little surprised that he and another few of our friends didn’t ’photobomb’ any of our photos!
Mr Teaspoon with his golfing buddy and mate—they seem to be having a great time! I think L is just relieved his reading is over. I didn’t know how stressful they were until I did one for bridesmaid M’s wedding a few weeks ago!
Next up, a quick peek at the group and family snaps.
What are your immediate plans after your ceremony? Will you have a receiving line and stay around to mingle with guests or will you promptly whisk away for pictures (or something else)?
