In my opinion, there are a lot of things country music stars do right. First and foremost, the music. I had no knowledge of the genre before I moved to Nashville five years ago and, to be quite honest, I really had no interest in learning. But then a funny thing happened.

My mom and I took a day-trip from Chicago to Nashville (thank you Southwest deals) to visit Vanderbilt. Mama Dalmatian says she knew right away that I would end up there, partially because I was completely enthralled by Vandy’s blooming gardens and pedestrian bridges (I really love me a pedestrian bridge), and partially because as we explored the city in our rental car I had the country music blaring and a huge smile plastered across my face.

And thus, my love for fiddles and honky-tonks was born. But we’ll get more into the music part in a later post. Right now, I want to talk about another thing that country music stars do right: LOVE.

They throw adorable rustic weddings with cowboy boots and all. Proof:

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert.

Unlike some other celebrities, they have marriages that last more than 72 days. Proof: Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, who have been married 15 years. Which, apparently is the Barbie Doll anniversary.

And damn, can they write a love song. Proof: There are too many Brad Paisley songs to choose from here. I’ll share one of my favs:

If you made it to the end of the video, you saw the totally adorable clip of Brad and his wife, Kimberly Williams (yes, that’s right, the girl from Father of the Bride—LOVE her!). They are hands-down my celebrity couple obsession.

Granted, I do not actually know these people, but they just seem so nice. Plus, look at his sexy cowboy hat and their cute little babies!

I am a total country music fan, Brad Paisley is one of my favourites!

Country music is one of the things that brought my fiancé and I together, so it has become a major part of our lives, and will be very much apparent on our big day : )

I’m totally with you on Brad + Kimberly. I’m not necessarily a huge OMG fan of either of them individually, but if they’re in anything, I’ll automatically give it a try, solely because I trust them. Is that weird? To trust a celebrity couple? Um, probably. Oh well.

When I was younger I completely idolized Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. I don’t listen to country music as much as I once did, (Mr. H isn’t a huge fan.) but I still love it. (BTW, once of my favorite Vandy memories was when Brad Paisley played a concert!)

I love Blake and Miranda, they got married down the highway from me here in TX! Love Brad’s music too, i think our first dance might be his song, “then”. it was really popular when we started dating a couple years ago.

yeah i live for little moments like that…i’m a huge country music fan and I love Brad! I can’t believe I’ve haven’t made it to Nashville yet. There are so many great country power couples out there - its so inspiring. My husband is from Massachusetts and has only been in the south a couple years but I’ve totally turned him on to country music too.
