Hello, hive!
I am so incredibly happy and surprised to be introducing myself to you all! When I got my acceptance email from Pengy, I was at work/school (work is school and school is work…more on that later!), and I seriously could not believe it. I instantly called my fiancée to share the good news, and she was just as excited as I am! I have wanted to be a blogging bee since before we got engaged, and it still doesn’t seem real! I am so truly honoured to be given the chance to share our unique wedding story with you all.

Now, just who are the Eagles? Let me fill you in!
I am a DIY-Jill-of-all-trades, and love spending my free time doing any craft I can get my hands on. During the day (and let’s be honest, the evenings and weekends, too!) I’m a graduate student studying (and pretending to understand) medical sciences and evolutionary developmental biology. I one day hope to be a badass clinician/scientist, and I’ve accepted that I’m going to be in school forever. I love watching bad reality TV shows (American Hoggers, Toddlers and Tiaras, Teen Mom 2…I’m looking at you!) and hanging out with my wonderful fiancée in our cozy retro apartment.

Fiancée Eagle is an undercover geek and grew up “on the farm,” but she moved into the big scary city so we could live together. She is a nurse by trade, and I can’t see her in any other career (she will make the best mom ever). In her free time, she enjoys watching Star Trek reruns, writing fan fiction stories online, and dreaming about our future house and children (best future mom ever—I swear).

We had the pretty standard meet-through-mutual friends first encounter, and over the course of my undergraduate degree, we became a couple. We got engaged my senior year (how cliché) and started planning our wedding soon after. Fiancée Eagle is one of the most heartfelt, optimistic, and giving people you could ever meet. Even though I’m a multiple-graduate-degree-seeking, crazy mad scientist, she puts up with me and shows me love in ways I never imagined possible. I feel so truly lucky to have found her, and I feel even luckier that I get to (legally!) marry her. We’re planning our August 2012 wedding to be a formal black-tie wedding with lots of DIY projects and vintage-decor touches. I can’t wait to share all of our wedding details, and planning ups and downs with you all!
So, why did I choose Miss Eagle? I absolutely love the woodland creatures generation, and I seriously never imagined that I would be able to pick one, so it’s a good thing there were only a few left! I was trying to decide between Eagle and Woodpecker, but I felt like “Woodpecker” didn’t quite fit my situation [insert bad lesbian joke here]. I also love the little eagle icon and think that eagles are pretty fierce birds in general. So Miss Eagle it is!
xoxo,
Miss Eagle
