About Mrs. Raccoon

I have seen some pretty amazing card boxes here on Weddingbee and around the internet. Mine probably isn’t one of them, however it’s not too bad on the eyes and will serve its purpose just fine. We bought a printed cardboard box and just had to fold it into shape and tie a bow around it. It’s substantially larger than what we had imagined, but it’s OK because newlyweds are supposed to be optimistic, right?

Another Project Finished! The Card Box : wedding decor indianapolis Dscf5486 pic6-619x474

Total cost of project: $3

We filled the bottom of the box with bells and then glued all of the folds together to prevent anyone from easily helping themselves to the contents. Yes, I know a handful of jingle bells isn’t enough to deter someone who’s out to do bad things, but it makes me feel better. The first floor of the winery is a store and is completely open to anyone who walks in. I think right after dinner we’re going to have someone take the card box and other items out so they can’t disappear or be forgotten.

What will your card box be like?

Filling the box with bells is a great idea. I never would have thought of that.

(I have to admit that my first thought when reading was that the bells were a decorative touch, though. Obviously I need to step away from the crafts. Haha.)

It’s perfect! I love the ribbon! Great way to scratch another item off your list and do it cost effectively. Way to go Miss Raccoon!

I’ve been putting off making my card box, but maybe I should dive in. Yours looks adorable, and you can’t beat 3 dollars!

Ohhh pretty! Our venue actually provides us with vintage birdcage to use as our card box so that’s one DIY I won’t have to get into! :D

Cute!

We’re using our bright red toolbox. Cost: free. DIY: none. We’ll be at a private venue, so we aren’t concerned about theft.

Cute! The bells are a good idea, as is having someone take it out early in the night. We did that so I didn’t have to worry about it.
