It’s the Tuesday before Christmas, and boy, do I have a present for you!
A recap!
Oh myLANTA! A recap?
I know. It’s been a while (weeks? months?), and I’m really sorry for the impromptu disappearance! I have missed your company, your comments, and the reliving of all the special moments of our wedding SO, SO much! But life has been a whirlwind! We took our annual trip to Tennessee (the place where Mr. Brooch proposed) …. I ran a marathon!! …and we’ve been busy nesting our little apartment (hello, whole new world of DIY!!).
Well, I’m BACK and I’m ready to blast off! Will you jump back into the Brooch wedding with me? Do you even remember me? Haha. (If not, there’s tons of pictures below to remind you who the Brooches are!)
My last post revealed our emotional first look, which was directly followed by this time of bride and groom love. These photos hold a special place in my heart. We’ve used them more than any others from the day in our home. We’ve framed them and displayed them; so much so that if you didn’t know us, you might think we were a little narcissistic.
What can I say? I’m smitten with us; having seen each other for the first time on this, the most special day in our lives. Our photographers (Meredith Perdue & Graham Terhune) did an amazing job capturing it all on film.
So here you have it: the Brooches, full of love and wedding day bliss.

After Mr. Brooch got a good look at my full wedding day ensemble, we started sharing notes about the morning, including our nervousness and the craziness that had led up to this moment (my hair, etc).
It wasn’t long before I was explaining every detail of my outfit. Mr. Brooch gave me a diamond bracelet when I graduated from college and I thought it was only appropriate that I wear it on our wedding day. It was the first piece of “nice” jewelry I had ever received.
After this, our photographers encouraged us to frolic around the reflecting pool, and frolic we did!
There were a lot of still moments, too. Moments of joy; complete and utter joy…
We posed for the camera a little, too.
Hey hive!!
The gardens at Oxon Hill Manor are an amazing location for pre-ceremony pictures. Any pictures really. I absolutely love these next few shots with the trees lined behind us, the greenery all around us, and the water not too far off in the distance.
DREAMY.
ABSOLUTELY DREAMY.
It was the perfect start to a perfect day.
And we were ready to take flight!
Here is one of my favorites…
Which we used for this year’s Christmas card.

Merry Christmas, hive!
Did you and your groom take pictures before your ceremony?
