Mrs. Argyle, St. Louis Age and Occupation: 24, Project Coordinator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Pilot Engagement Date: February 15, 2009 Wedding Date: September 2010 Venue: Jewel Box in Forest Park and Windows on Washington About Me: I'm a true Midwestern girl (born and raised), lover of red wine, reality TV and the entire J.Crew catalog. I love to dance regardless of who is watching, and enjoy a good laugh with my girls. I have a soft spot in my heart for planet Earth, my two dogs and my fiance. Fall is my favorite season (which is why we are marrying in September), but I love a warm summer day and the Colorado mountains in the winter. We are planning a modern soiree downtown, with lots of bold colors, and fun, eco-friendly elements.
About Mrs. Argyle

{And, I’m back, with wedding recaps on the way after the new year!}

The last stop on our honeymoon was the one I was most looking forward to. Santorini. This island has been on my bucket list since 7th grade. I could not wait to get here.

After packing up in Mykonos, we hopped on the FlyingCat 4 for a quick boat ride to this volcanic island.

We were fortunate to arrive to our resort, Astra, just before sunset. And, since we had this outrageous view from outside our room we enjoyed a little champagne and the prettiest sunset I have ever seen in my life.

Not knowing what to do on the next day, we hit the main office of our resort for recommendations, which lead to us heading over to a winery on the other side of the island (Domaine Sigalas). We sampled a few of their wines and wished there was an easy way to bring some of them home. Greek wine from Santorini is special because the volcanic soil provides a different level of nutrients for the grapes. I dream of this wine from time to time.

We hopped in a taxi back to Imerovigli (where our hotel was) and decided to walk from Imerovigli to Thira (about a 30 minute walk). Sunny, 70 degrees and an incredible view. You honestly cannot get better than that. We stopped to take photos along the way, making sure to capture those iconic blue-roofed buildings, and grabbed some lunch.

On our last day we walked back into town, and then spent the afternoon on a “sunset cruise” which included a trip over to hike the volcano, a swim in the hot springs, and appetizers and wine as we sailed back to port and enjoyed the sunset. It truly was the capstone to our honeymoon. I think about this island all the time, and cannot wait until we head back.

We went to Santorini for our honeymoon and it is a beautiful place!!!. It looks like you took the Thellassa for your hike and sunset cruise. My hubs and I thought it was tops too on our trip. I will definitely go back!

I’ve been to Greece 3 times in 7 years, I’m that obsessed with it. I went last year with my mom, her bf, and my sister. We rented quads and road all around the island stopping at all the beaches. The Red Beach was pretty cool, we also went to a black sand beach ( can’t remember the name off the top of my head) which was awesome but super hot on your feet haha. If you head back ( you know you will ) I’d recommend going to Naxos, it’s an amazing island. Doesn’t have that same breathtaking feel as Santorini, but it’s right up there for one of my favorite places ever!

Great pictures!! Some of them remind me of the scenery in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants :)
