The morning of my wedding, I woke up surprisingly calm. I had been stressing the previous few weeks due to depressing weather forecasts that threatened to ruin our dream outdoor location, so waking up to a beautiful, sunshiny day instantly put a big smile on my face. Both my hair and makeup artist arrived right on time and looking fabulous (a great first sign to me since I took a huge leap of faith on hiring locals who I’d never worked with before!). They got to work on making me into a bride…

We started getting ready at our hotel and then finished touching up at the top of the mountain.

Looking out across the beautiful mountains, it really sank in that I was heading to the top of a mountain to get married. It was an absolutely amazing gondola ride… 20 minutes of gorgeous scenery and reflection upon how happy and blessed I felt. Maybe it was my fear of heights or maybe it was the excitement of marriage, but I had more butterflies in my belly than I had ever had before. It makes me smile every time I think back on that giddy moment.

That last picture is actually one of my favorite from my “getting ready” shots. It’s me heading up to the ceremony from the elegant wine cellar room that I finished getting ready in on top of the mountain. It was my last moment as I went from Miss to Mrs.
