HOLY-MOLY-MAIL-DAY

January 24th, 2012 @ 7:28 am by Mrs. Aardvark

Yesterday, like all days I went to the mailbox when I got home from work. Little did I realize what excitement awaited inside! That’s right, not just bills and junk mail for me. And not just one, but two VERY excited bits-o-mail.

Yes, our very first RSVP came back! And I have to say, Mr. Aardvark’s aunty won the race on that one! I am pretty sure everyone (or almost everyone) has gotten their invites by now so (since we are already getting RSVPs and all) I should be able to finally reveal them this week!

Just a little bit of wear and tear. Nothing too bad, though.

In the above you will see our very high tech method for keeping track of the RSVPs in case people forgot to put their names on them. Note the upper left corner. Yes, we numbered them. No we did not get fancy and use invisible ink or some system of squiggles. I don’t think it marred the over all aesthetic of the invitation suit.

The other piece of mail was a bit more mysterious—it was not a post card. It came from my grandmother. This fact was made clear by the abundance of return address labels  (yes, there was one on the front, too).

The frogs are super cute though, so I can only give her so much grief. Inside that be-stickered envelope was this gem:

I have to say I am impressed with my G-ma’s Shutterfly skills (skillz?). This is one cute invitation! AND it’s one of my very favorite colors (purple) AND it has my very favorite engagement picture on  it AND it’s an invitation to a party for me. It’s pretty much perfect in every way. Both of my grandmas are teaming up to put on the shower, and I’m sure it will be a blast*!

Have you had an exciting mail day recently?

*I have been very delinquent in telling you about our registering process. More on that to come!

Numbering your RSVP’s is a great idea. I think that I am going to do that, thanks for the idea. So excited for you and jealous, we haven’t even started our invitations yet, and we’re 5 months away!
