For Christmas, Sweetie Scone gave me a kitty (a stuffed one) to represent the life sized bundle of joy we would add to our mini family. I am a cat and dog person (we always had one of each growing up) and I have been pining for a little kitty to add into the mix. We didn’t get a kitten right away because it wasn’t really the season (and while we are full proponents of adopted an older animal we wanted a kitty that could grow up loving a pup). So a few weeks later a friend found a sweet little thing in her garage and we got to pick her up on Valentine’s Day!

Valentine’s Day is not usually something we celebrate much, our dating anniversary is right before so we celebrate that. But I guess now it can be the day we celebrate adopting our sweet/sassy little kitten!

She has plenty of spunk to fit in and make us laugh everyday. She and our fluffy boy (Darby) are still figuring out how to play together, but they have periodic rounds of house tag. And then they both fall into nap time which is grrrrreat.

By far the best Valentine’s/Christmas gift ever!!!!!!!!! We love having another four-legged member of the family!

SOOO adorable!!!!

After we bought our house we were talking about getting a rottweiler….we didn’t find one we wanted (looking at rescues, but as “new” dog owners we were worried about our lack of expertise and knowledge–especially with the rottweiler breed since people are idiots with this breed)….

BUT I found a rottweiler red dobermann cross, and she was GORGEOUS and sweet….just 6 weeks old….my sis loaned us the money….and we bought her….

we had a 9 year old cat at that point…it took some adjustments but I believe that the dog (ruby) kept the cat (bo) alive for a few more years….bo had to keep her in line….

bo got very sick….we tried with medication and diet change that helped for a few years….but in the end, she was ready to go…we had to put her down…

Ruby pined, she was sad that her “mom” was gone…

After a few months, we realized we had to get ruby a new friend…and I found an “adopt a thon” and wanted to just go “look”….yeah, that worked

I found a little 6 week old black kitten….his mother had been slated to be put down by animal control when she was pregnant with him and his siblings….she was taken in by the rescue, and he was born on st patricks day…

He fell asleep in my arms, and talking to the rescue, telling them I raised my dog from 6 weeks, they were comfortable allowing me to adopt him at such a young age….

Brought this little guy home….a little ball of black fuzz….Ruby fell in love….she would hold him down and clean him, they would sleep together…

he is almost a year old now, and they are BEST friends…..

So i get needing a kitten to add to the mix….and the love of kittens…I’m almost ready for a new fur baby to take on….and know that ruby and onyx would be happy to have a sibling

Adorable! I had two cats plus a roommate’s cat already when my honey moved in… so not likely he’ll be gifting me any furry friends any time soon. Thanks for letting us share your fun.

She is so sweet!! Congratulations!!

MrN gifted me with our puppy for Christmas.
I have a cat (was always a dog person until Bosco came into my life, I volunteer with local animal services & Bosco stole my heart) but MrN wanted a dog, I said not until we buy a home BUT our friends dog got pregnant and we were there when the puppies were 3 days old, needless to say I fell in love (Pug & Schnauzer mix, Schnug) so MrN got us one as a Christmas gift & now I can’t imagine my life without Cain.

BAH! She is so cute! My FI also gave me a kitty for Christmas–I opened up the package on Christmas full of litter, cat food, and toys with a note that said “Let’s get a cat.” He knew I’d been wanting one. We went around to different shelters in the days following and picked out our little, loveable maniac. Although now our cat is kinda more attached to him than me (must be a boy thing) so I want another…lol.
