Mrs. Castle, NYC/Southern California Age and Occupation: 26, Actress/Babysitter Fiance's Age and Occupation: 31, Actor/Writer/Graphic Designer Engagement Date: January 1, 2011 Wedding Date: April 2012 Venue: Padua Hills Theater About Me: I am a Southern California girl living in the Big Apple. I moved here to put my degree in Musical Theater to work! My survival job is caregiver to an adorable 2 1/2 year old. When I'm not working, auditioning or rehearsing, I am hanging out at home with my FI and our two beloved cats. I love to read, sing, dance, hang with friends, and spend quality time with Mr. Castle watching our favorite TV shows (LOST, Big Bang Theory, and Mythbusters...to name a few). Mr Castle and I met while performing in college, so it is only fitting that our wedding take place at an old theater. We are planning a vintage, theater-inspired wedding with some DIY projects and plenty of personal touches thrown in. I love living in the city but I am excited to marry my man in the state where we fell in love.

Invitation Inspiration!

March 3rd, 2012 @ 1:55 pm by Mrs. Castle

With our save the dates taken care of, it was time to start thinking about our invitations! While Mr. Castle did an amazing job designing our save the dates, I didn’t want to pressure him into designing our invitations. If he really wanted to do them I wasn’t going to say no…but he wasn’t jumping at the chance. The closer we got to the wedding, the more projects we already had to work on, and neither of us needs that DIY-invitation stress.

So I started searching for some invitations that caught my eye on Etsy, Minted, Wedding Paper Divas, and more. Here are some of my favorites!

I know that last one is a save the date, but it’s so cute! I think it could work as an invitation. I am looking for a way to incorporate our kitties…

I wish there were some sort of overall theme to theses invitation examples, but as you can see these ideas are kind of all over the place. We definitely favor the old Art Deco/Broadway “playbill” style invitations. Simple, elegant design, but not too serious, and a touch of orange wouldn’t hurt…

Did you design your own invitations? Was your decision difficult to make?

The third set down is amazing!

We’ll be, most likely, designing our own. That might change by the time we get to that stage but it’s the plan for now!

I literally gasped when I saw the second set. And then my heart hurt because our invites are long ago sent out. Maybe my guests wouldn’t mind a do-over?? The budget would mind though…. Sigh….

Mrs Bunting used a program very similar to the invitation with kittehs. Maybe y’all could go that route!

I love the first ones!! We didn’t really put that much thought into our invites cause we knew people wouldn’t appreciate them the way you ladies would :D

I love #2, 3, & 5 (especially 3). And I think your choice have more in common than you realize… They all have a certain ‘feel’ about them. 2/3/5 all feel vintage-y and with a touch of old Hollywood. 4 & 6 are both romantic and hand-illustrated. So there are trends there, if that helps.

Pretty sure the third set was in my inspiration too, they’re so pretty! And I love the Rifle set with the animals, how adorable is that?!
