My loves in life include: food, family and the fiance. I’m a planner/organization fiend, by nature and by addiction, and am obsessed with all things wedding and design. We're trying to put personal touches on everything we can in our wedding, to really make it personal to us, our family, and friends. In the middle of wedding planning, I’m also finishing up grad school, and will be starting a brand new career within weeks of our wedding. It’s going to be an adventure!
About Miss Woodpecker

Over the course of wedding planning, there have been two things that overwhelmed me to the point that I threw them aside and pretended they didn’t exist. One is invitations (yeah, totally need to get started on that) and the other is centerpieces.

I had no idea what I wanted to do for our centerpieces. I was so overwhelmed at all the possibilities…and the flowers. I like flowers, but I don’t love them, plus a lot of them make me sneeze, so I knew that the tall flower arrangements weren’t for us.

I wanted them to look classic and simple but beautiful. When I think of that description, I keep going back to my wedding crush. I’m sure more than one of you have one. It’s that one wedding that is just perfect and inspiring that you want your own wedding to be everything it is…without seeming like a wedding stalker. It’s been bookmarked on my computer for months, and I visit it for inspiration once a week. I just can’t get over how perfect everything is, even their simple centerpieces:

Alright, enough of my love-fest. Since I just couldn’t figure out my centerpieces, I went back to this nautically lovely wedding and was finally inspired to make a decision:

Simple yes? Too simple/boring? I hope not. But in the end, hydrangeas, candles, and a touch of sea decor are the perfect combination for us, I think. Plus, now that I’ve made a decision, I feel much better. One more thing to cross of the to-do list!

Has your inspiration helped you in your wedding planning? Even though I try to get creative, I always go back and become inspired by past brides. Anyone else have a wedding crush?

I love your wedding crush! I had a hard time with centerpieces too. I just couldn’t decide what I wanted! In the end I kind of picked two different modest looks from our florists past work and said, this but make it orange! I hope it looks alright! I love your choice. It’s simple and lovely!

I have a preppy nautical wedding crush too!! Unfortunately, I found the pictures on my photographers (private) website. Otherwise, I would share. My wedding crush not only has the same theme, but it was at the same venue! It would be extremely hard not to copy if that wedding budget wasn’t 3X mine. I feel like my wedding crush is the cool older sister of my wedding. Its been a great source of inspiration.
