Wedding Bandalicious

67 days left till the wedding, and our to do list seems to grow instead of shrink by the day! AHHH. We tried to take this past weekend to cross a few things off our list, and its seems that it was the weekend of Mr. Elk, who got his tux (which we will talk about shortly) and his wedding band (to be discussed now!).

Now I should preface this entire discussion by letting you all know that Mr. Elk may choose to never wear his wedding band, and I am 100% OK with that. Both my dad and Mr. Elk’s dad have never worn wedding bands, and Mr. Elk doesn’t wear any jewelry at all. I wouldn’t be surprised if he just doesn’t like the way it feels on his finger. Mr. Elk seems to think he’ll have a difficult time picking up the chicks at his frequent bar outings with a ring on which is his biggest reason for not wanting to wear it (that was a very sarcastic comment, Mr. Elk is a bit of a homebody, and is very shy—I’m amazed we found each other!).

Anyway, despite my suspicion that he won’t actually wear it, I figured he should probably at least have the option of wearing it, which would require actually owning a ring. Well, it only took about 20 minutes at a local jewelry store and we were walking out with a receipt in hand (we had to order the ring in his size!). I’m pretty sure Mr. Elk just wanted the whole process to be over with, but I think he is happy with his decision. A very simple, cobalt band, and for only $250 dollars I can’t complain! Want to see? (note—this is not the actual band he bought, but it looks pretty darn similar)

I can honestly say I know absolutely nothing about Cobalt for jewelry, but we get yearly “spa treatments” for the ring for life (though I’m sure Mr. Elk will never actually do this), and we were assured there isn’t really any upkeep required. Overall, I’m just happy Mr. Elk found something he liked, and maybe there is some hope that he will actually wear it!

Did you have difficulty finding your mister’s wedding band? Or did he surprise you by making a quick decision?

My guy picked the exact same band in about the exact same amount of time! I love his choice. I admit I teared up when I saw it on his finger. Makes it all very real!

It’s pretty! Mr. P decided pretty quickly once we found some stores that were open on a Sunday, which were only stores in the mall :)

We just ordered his yesterday! A simple tungsten band with a brushed finish running down the middle. Only took him a couple days to make the call. He needs something unscratchable and you can’t beat the price of tungsten, especially when ordering online!

Suprisingly he likes the one that I picked out. A friend and I were at the mall a few months ago and were looking at rings. I was able to get a quote for it told the jeweler that I would brink him back to approve it. He loved it. It is not your normal smooth band. I has grooves all around the ring and a diamond in each groove.

Love that band! We are in the process of picking one out now and of course Mr. C fell in love with a very nice, but very expensive band. We’re still searching. :D

We’re going through this right now! He won’t pick out one, and he’s talking about sturdiness, etc. We’ve looked at rings at least 4 times now – I’m so anxious to just find one already!! Haha.

My FI picked a very similar ring in white gold. My Dad never wore his wedding band either, and Mr. Castle didn’t seem to have much of an opinion on it, only that he wanted it to be comfortable. He made his decision so fast. I was really pleased!

We found the ring he wants, but haven’t actually bought it yet. It’s a tungsten carbide ring with wood inlay. Actually I was browsing online and ran across this. I pinned it to my pinterest board and showed it to him. Turns out he loves it! Best part is that the 300-400 dollar ring at the jewelry stores is only $60 on overstock! Cobalt is a nice looking ring. My man tried on one ring and bought it.
