Mrs. Scepter, Dallas/Amarillo Age and Occupation: 23, Social Media Director Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Aerospace Engineering Doctoral Candidate Engagement Date: July 18, 2011 Wedding Date: July 2012 Venue: Country Home Weddings About Me: I am a born and raised Texan who bleeds burnt orange. (Hook 'em!) I moved to Dallas after college to be near my fiance while he works on his doctorate degree. In my free time I love eating, video chatting with friends, watching every trashy reality show I can find, and playing with our adorable basset hound, Sherlock. My fiance and I have been dating since we were 14 and we are so excited to plan our relaxed, hometown wedding. After a decade of dating, that included three city moves, and four years of long distance, we are ready to get this show on the road!
About Mrs. Scepter

For us having kids at our wedding was a no-brainer. I absolutely love kids and think they can create some adorable and memorable moments at weddings. I know kids can sometimes create issues at weddings (running through important photo-ops, crying at the top of their lungs during the vows, or knocking over the cake table), but it is a risk we are willing to take. I don’t think there will be that many children in attendance, and I trust the parents we are inviting to corral their children if necessary. I love all kids, but there is one very special child that I can’t imagine not having at our wedding.

Our flower girl (let’s call her Tiny Dancer) is my favorite tiny human in the world. Tiny Dancer is MOH Dancer’s daughter, and from the moment I was told she would be coming into the world I loved her. I remember painting Tiny Dancer’s nursery, helping MOH Dancer register for her baby shower gifts, and holding Tiny Dancer for the first time.

Fast forward three and a half years and Tiny Dancer has grown into a bubbly, happy toddler who has been practicing her flower-girl skills for months now.

Isn’t she adorable?

I want Tiny Dancer to wear something more special than the traditional flower-girl dress: i.e., white, long, and, frankly, expensive.

Thanks to Etsy and Pinterest I found some adorable (and sassy) options:

I love them all, but I want to make sure we pick a dress that Tiny Dancer will like and will be comfortable in all night. Which dress is your favorite? Who are the special tiny humans in your wedding?

Too bad there isn’t a mix of the Pepper Nix one (I <3 the sparkles) and the Fattie Pie one. It looks like the Pepper Nix one is a tube top… That seems a little inappropriate for a 3 year old in my opinion.

O she is the most adorable!!! I am having two little flower girls as well and I got their dresses about a year ago in the after Easter sales in Macys, they had a lot of pretty white Easter/ Fist Communion type dresses on mega sale. So worth thinking about if you want to save a few bucks!

She is most certainly precious! My 3 y/o niece is our flower girl, and she too is the light of our lives! I totally get wanting to give her the princess gown she deserves. I love all those dresses-especially the Etsy ones. I am making my niece a very special princess star wand to carry when she walks down the aisle so she’s probably more excited about that, than anything else.

I love other people who love the gift of what children can bring to such an already beautiful day.
Congrats!

My 4 year old goddaughter will be carrying our broom. We’re going to jump the broom. She’sbeen telling people she’s going to be in a beauty pageant. Her mother and i decided she’s going to wear a tutu. Pretty sure she’s going to steal the show.

I would be all over that Pepper Nix one if it had straps. Your FG is the cutest little thing!

My niece is going to be just shy of 2 at the wedding. We are hoping for the best since her mom with process just before her, and my dad (her pappy) will be coming with me right behind. I know 2yrs is a bit young but we are hoping for the best, and if for some reason she doesnt make it down the isle, we are ok with that. My sis found a cute ivory dress at baby gap, on sale. It matches mine perfectly, and I think we are going to add a fluffy petticoat if we can find a reasonably priced one.

The sash on that Pepper Nix dress is amazing!

My godson will be our ring-bearer, but we don’t have any little girls in our life, so we’re flower girl-less. Yours is precious, though!

I wish I knew more tiny people! ;) The only child at my wedding will be my nephew, who will only be 2 (unless there are born in the mean time). It looks like no flower girl for us, because no one who is close to us has a girl young enough. I do want my nephew in the wedding party, at least the photos since he’ll be too young to do much.

I LOVE the Pepper Nix one! You can add straps to it too, if that’s a concern!

Aww I love them all! Have you asked her opinion? Most of the 3 year olds I know, and I know a lot I’m a full time babysitter, have strong opinions about their outfits. Lol I dont have a flower girl but when I see dresses like these I wish I did!

@LoLo0113: I totally agree about the straps – I just love the sash and the sparkles!
@Westvillebride: That is such a good idea! I will have to go this weekend and look around.
@MrsDTMajor: She will be so cute!
@Miss Treasure:I LOVE the sash! And we don’t have any little boys in our life so we will be sans ring bearer.
@Miss Castle: We will definitely be asking her opinion. She is a VERY opinionated 3 year old! @Ms. Damask: The damask black and white one is adorable!

We had mapletree make our flower girl dresses. Beautiful! I wanted a colored dress, like the bridesmaids, and I simply mailed her a swatch and she matched it perfectly. We had three girls as flower girls so it was a lot of work, but she was super easy to work with. She even made little bolleros since we had a December wedding. Highly, highly recommend her work. And a shout out to Amarillo! Lived there from 99 to 2005…

Those are cute dresses. I got my three flower girls dresses at Fred Meyer… they are easter dresses and they were cheap, only 30 bucks each… and they look so pretty that it pass for flower girl dress. Also it has my wedding colors in it, Silver and Purple. It was absolute perfect… so glad that I didn’t go to David’s bridal for the dress… I like how their dress stands out.

Perhaps you could go to JCpennys or Macys or Fred Meyer or even Kohls to look for easter dress and you’d find something you like.
