Paint My Face: Part 2

April 16th, 2012 @ 11:19 am by Mrs. Boa Constrictor

A week after having mixed feelings about my makeup trial at Sephora, I tried my prowess at makeup application as a practice for wedding day.

45 minutes later this is what I came up with (please ignore my scraggly hair)…

Paint My Face: Part 2 : wedding isabela puerto rico makeup trial 2012 04 2012-04Paint My Face: Part 2 : wedding isabela puerto rico makeup trial 2012 0401 2012-0401

Paint My Face: Part 2 : wedding isabela puerto rico makeup trial 2012 0402 2012-0402

I personally like it much better than my previous trial. I think this new makeup look works much better with my makeup inspiration and with our casual morning wedding, and it doesn’t hurt that I feel much more comfortable in it. I’m still a bit ambivalent because it’s our wedding, in which I will be photographed a million times and it wouldn’t hurt to have a little extra makeup oomph.

Here is a side by side comparison

Help me out bees!

Which look do you think I should use for my morning wedding?

Do you have any suggestions or makeup recommendations? Would you add/eliminate anything from either of the wedding day makeup looks?

Go with the look that makes you most comfortable! I think you look beautiful both ways, but like you I tend to err on the side of a more natural look.

I like look number two, but for the sake of pictures I think you need a bit more colour on the eye and cheek. I have started getting my makeup done professionally for all my wedding-related events and the photographs look so much better as a result!

Could you tell me the mascara and lipstick/gloss you are wearing in your “natural” 2nd try? I think that looks so comfortable. I am not a make-up person but need something so photos look good in my daughter’s wedding.

I voted for more natural. You seem to like it more, and I think it’ll fit better with your morning, tropical weather wedding.

I voted natural. I think you look glowing! Also, I agree with Hawk that you should go with what makes your feel the most comfortable. I would just say that for the point of pictures, I would add a little bit more blush to the apples of your cheeks and a little more mascara/eyeliner. That was my philosophy for our wedding and I think it helped take my makeup up that one little notch that a wedding calls for, you know? Also, I’m a performer and know that a little more makeup is the way to go because it won’t look as dramatic in pictures. It’ll make sure you don;t look washed out. Also, it’ll ensure that the makeup will last a little longer. No matter what you do though- one thing is for sure. You are beautiful and nothing you wear will detract from that! <3 You are going to be a stunner =P

Oh, and I meant more mascara/eyeliner on the top lid, not bottom.

@silvergal: @kmnowlan: Thanks for the recommendation I’m definitely pushing my eyeshadow and blush up a notch on wedding day to make it really pop!

@girsnow: I’m wearing Rimmel LYCRA lash extender mascara and Outlast Lipstain in Flirty Nude with some Covergirl Wetslicks in Caramel Apple Splash

Oh my gosh, option two all the way. I love the softer look and your lips look gorgeous!! (that sounds way creepier than I mean it to, I swear!)

I’d go with #2. More comfortable is good too. I think the first one has too much bottom eyeliner. It pulls down your pretty eyes. The more natural looks like it adds to your beauty instead of us looking at make-up.

The more natural look for sure! Not only does it look very pretty, but you’ll be more comfortable. If you don’t like how the heavier makeup feels you won’t be happy, no matter how pretty it looks in pictures.

I think you look beautiful with either option, but I’d go with what makes you more comfortable, because a comfortable bride is a happy bride and a happy bride is a beautiful bride.

Oh my goodness that 2nd look is perfect! You look beautiful in both but I think for a mid-morning wedding, #2 is perfection!
