After getting ready, we made our way through the casino. We ended up in a small green space outside the Wynn, tucked away behind the taxi stands. Now, this does not sound like it would be a good spot to take wedding photographs, but it ended up being perfect. The noise of the casino and the Strip and the traffic dulled. It felt like it was just the two of us. (Well, plus the taxi driver who kept grinning and giving us thumbs-up from across the road.)
These definitely aren’t your typical Vegas shots—and we love them for that.

After a while, we decided to head back into the casino and take some pictures by the Lunar New Year decorations. People smiled and stopped to congratulate us wherever we went. “Good luck,” they yelled. “Thanks! You too,” we responded, gesturing toward the tables or the slot machines. Luckily for everyone, the Year of the Dragon is considered to be the most auspicious year of the lunar calendar.

We needed to meet with our wedding consultant at 4:30 PM, so we started to make our way to the salons. We stopped along the way to take a few more photographs. The next one is one of Mr. Mole’s favorites.

My favorites, though, are the ones that we took on a chaise longue in the hallway when we were killing some time. I normally don’t sit on Mr. Mole’s lap; in fact, this was probably only the second or third time that I had ever done so. But it felt so natural that day. (The kissing photographs felt a little awkward, so we kept cracking up in the middle of them!)

With that, it was 4:30 PM. We had to make our way to the Lavender Salon. We also had to say goodbye to our photographer, at least for the ceremony. The Wynn, along with many other casino wedding chapels, has an exclusive photography contract with Cashman Photography, meaning that we had to use their photographer for the ceremony. Brian and his assistant, Jordan, would meet up with us again around 5:45 PM.
The next half hour was a whirlwind of activity and excitement. We met up with our consultant, talked with our officiant, checked out the ceremony space, got mic-ed for the video cameras, introduced ourselves to our new photographer, and said hello to our guests. I also picked up our flowers. Our package at the Wynn came with a rose boutonniere for Mr. Mole and a 24-rose bouquet for me, so the only decision that we had to make about flowers was the color. I love the peachy coral we ended up with.
At last, with flowers in hand, we waited together in a small room off to the side of the salon, until it was time to walk down that aisle.
